Berlin ruins
« on: October 14, 2012, 02:34:15 AM »

.
TESTED IN DBW 1.7.1 (but should work in other installs)

I extracted these objects from free mods packs for TOW.

They are, for the most part, but not only, destroyed German buildings, Reichstag included:

some of packs objects:

interior of one of the rail stations:

DL

Reichstag object is divided in different parts you must gather in FMB:

https://www.mediafire.com/?lhdlyl8g3z68nm6

INSTALL
-unzip and copy main folders into your #DBW or Mods folder
-----> (try to avoid the "folder-in-the-folder-with-same-name" error when copying them  ;) )
-in any pack you'll find a text document with relative entries.
-copy/paste those entries at the bottom of your static.ini, just before these line:
"STATIC.INI INFO NEEDS TO BE ADDED ABOVE THIS SECTION"

Reichstag pack includes TWO text documents: the "NO RUINS" text is to use if you don't want a destroyed buliding, but a normal one.

NOTE
These mods were not originally conceived for Il2, so some of them may be a little buggy
Two objects are not working, but because of my slow connection, I hadn't the time to reupload the whole huge thing...sorry :P

with these objects you can build a 1945 Berlin scenario...

EDIT
further pack of nordic objects, install as above:

NEW LINK-v2 30 Oct 12
https://www.mediafire.com/?v5hnxksnrr3cmdd

previous version could make a CTD if used in mapbuilding version of Il2

UPDATE
all pack included/fixed lods/fixed mat files/corrected texture errors/unused files removed/extra buildings added

Thanks for the release of new object because we'll not have enough!

We have had other TOW object introduced in IL2 by old member Bran Toc (IIRC his nickname) at AAA times , but them had an high poly numbers and give some stuttering if used in great numbers....if even them are high poly objects , placing them in FMB for public or private use should be done among frequent FPS test to avoid too much stuttering....

Thanks for share!

I've tried these out - but not in dense concentrations - they work and look fine and some of the buildings can be used for other places other than Berlin ... in any case there are never enough objects for maps. Hope to see these included in DBW updates so that everyone will be able to use maps in which these feature.

Nice job extracting.

I've tried them to and they are just what we need, excellent! thankyou very much. Somebody could build a terrific Stalingrad from these and use them in many other cities.

These are really great Ecto, particularly like the bigger city blocks saves a lot of time placing smaller items. Are the undamaged versions already in the game? The railway station looks similar to the one we have.

cheers mate

... Are the undamaged versions already in the game? ,,,

The mods of Tow from where they come were intended to recreate the environment for street fights in Berlin, so they were only "destroyed", apart the Reichstag and some buildings in 3rd pack (bottom of 1st post) which are available in the two versions  :)

The Berlin map has needed to be redone for a long time now.  Using textures and buildings like we have in the Channel map would make the maps actually playable.

Very nice work....

Cheers
