Game Booster
« on: April 27, 2010, 06:16:16 AM »

Here is a new utillity I found out recently . It is called Game Booster and it aims at making your gaming experience better .
With it you can choose what application you may want to be closed when playing , it can defrag your game files , and rearrange your RAM making it suitable for better gaming (meaning there is more free RAM) .
I guarantee that it will not cause any problems at all .

I agree this little program simplifies shutting down all those nasty services that are not necessary for gaming. All these things can be done manually but it is time consuming. User interface is pretty straight forward and you can check and un-check services you dont want messed with.

Hi Condor!

Is there a readme, a site or something else where we can have more detailed infos please?

-G-

I am sorry Gerax but I did not find anything but as congo said it is pretty straight forward .
Firstly click on "Switch to Gaming Mode " . Then select all those programs you want to be closed while you play . The choices you make will be saved for later use but very easy to change later . Then the program will close all these programs you selected and then minimize to tray . Also you can defrag your games with this program making them run faster . Then play !

It is so easy to use that I do not think that there was even a need for a readme file . If everyone finds one though it will be most welcome .

Actually I think it is the opposite check the services you want stopped and then click on Gaming mode button. The nice thing is if you attempt to close it it will just minimize to tray until you switch back to normal mode. It stops services like TCP/IP and application Gateways that deal with internet and protocols. If you are curious about what the service does find Administrative Tools and then double click on Services icon this will show you all the services and if you click on them to highlight it will give you a short expanation on the left. You can also start and stop the services from this window but it is definitely more time consuming than this program.

No prob!! If you try it out, when you run the program for the first time, if you click on Support at the top or the Boost PC button at the bottom it will take you to Iobit site the Boost PC button takes you to their Product site and the support button will take you to Game Booster Forums, hope this helps. App is located in Iobit folder in Program Files.
