This is based on the canopy mods from Avia by Vert ,LaGG-3 new series and armaments are by RUDY, new 3D models are by Ivan750C6. Please let me  know who else worked so I can give correct credit!

This mod consists of 4 parts. 3 parts are opening canopies for all the Lavochkin Fighters except the rockets, by Vert. These now also have tweaked Reticles, Extended Masks, and New POV's which include the "taxi" view, that you can access when the canopy is open, by pressing the same key as for the raised seat in carrier planes. This last stuff is all by me.



The remaining part of the mod is new Slot LaGG 3 series 1 and series 11 new slot planes. I gave them opening canopies also, and I gave the LaGG3 series 1 its own FM ( a placeholder for now). The series11 already had it's own FM.

Thus you will need united buttons v0.04 or later for the new planes in this mod!

Put the parts you want in your mods folder, and add the lines to your air ini for the planes you want:

Just tested the LaGG canopies- very nice indeed, only the LaGG-3RD, La-7R and Kojedub La-7's canopies don't work- presumably not included so no worries.
Now replacing the LaGG-3 series 1 and 11 from a Russian pack with these new files, then testing!

Tried it, very useful fulfillment. It would be very nice if this bird (LaGG3 series 8 ) will have also the opening canopy , like other SAS~CirX's  LaGGs.

zaelu, also remember the amount of work involved in checking for online compatibility is quite massive, and i don't think any of us offliners are going to dedicate that amount of time to ensuring online compatibility. we leave that to the boffins of the online crowd. 
hopefully, as you mentioned, they are being fixed one by one......eventually it will all be working fine, i'm sure.......i just doubt it'll be done here first....

According to the book "LAGG FIGHTERS in action" :

The lower balance weight was deleted from the series 4, so it shouldn't be there in the first place. No rockets (but they were field mods to carry them in a later date). The radiator shape should be the same as series 1. The antenna mast is the higher, the one of the later series. Usually the earlier, shorter antenna mast and the lower balance weight are combined in some (according to the book) "very early series 4" planes. A thought: These planes were in fact series 3 LaGGs, having the rest of the series 4 improvements (SHVAK cannon, M-105PA engine etc.). There is no mentioned in the book about series 2 & 3, they are just bypassed.

The series 8 should have the new sleeker nose, without the SHKAs machine guns, but still retain the old exhausts and rudder of the series 4.

The series 11 was almost identical with the series 8, apart from the different loadout, with provision for rockets and the new rear radiator shape (the one that in IL-2 we see in series 4,29,66)

The new rudder/tail was installed in the 23rd series, but the old exhaust (together with the M-105PA engine and the exhasut shield) was retained.

The LaGG-3IT was the series 34.

Finally, it seems that the 3D models of series 29.35, 66 are accurate.

Last LaGG-3 produced - February 1944

Most produced series - there is no such data in the book but it's clearly stated that there was a continuous to increase production until late 1942. That would do series 11, 23 & 35 the most common. Series 66 is a bit particular situation since it was in production only in Georgia, in a much slower rate and all of their production was absorved as replacement to existing LaGG-3 units.In fact, as I read in a AEROPLANE article, series 66 was more of a Gudkov product. 

Replaced: Not only by La-5, but very frequently by Yak-3. In fact the introduction of Yak-3 with the massive withdraw of LaGG-3 from front line units happened in the same timeframe, so that makes sense.

Conclusion that has to do with IL-2 campaign building

There is a gap regarding the 1st half of 1942. I hope that a - correct - series 11 will be re-introduced in a future UP/DBW release.
