Try use this tool:

(edit by GJE52 :- I have just used this tool and it works. I have updated the instructions to make the process a little easier to understand.)

Use this process to convert an extracted binary mesh file to .3ds to allow you to use 3ds max to work on it.

Instructions

1. Download and unpack the tool using this link.

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3004.0.html

2. Select if you want the whole .msh file or just the LODs, Hooks, Collision meshes, shaddow meshes, etc, then open your binary mesh.
2. In the menu output->Other (Max) option  check "limit name to 10 chars"
3. Go into Save Options and change UV paramters into this: (this is important)

U offset 0
V offset -1
U scale 1
V scale -1

4. In the file menu chose save and put it into a temporary folder as 3ds.

5. Open 3ds max and select "Import".

6.  Navigate to your temporary folder and select the 3ds file.

It should now be ready to edit....  ;)

@Wolfighter

Dude, tried using the technique. I'd export the .msh and converted it to .3ds, my problem now is that i can only see a very small dummy but i cant see the mesh. Am i doing something wrong?

im using 3dmax 9.

Thanks in advance :)

  Hi guys! :)

I'm also trying to open the msh files with this tool but it seems I'm doing something wrong too. I made the first two steps as Wolfighter indicated but I can't find any "Save Options" to make those UV changes.
Anyway I tried to save it as 3ds and when I import to 3DS Max the object looks totally screwed.

  I'm also using 3DS Max 9

  Thanks

If you are having trouble try the process again, Thanks to Wolfighter for explaining this, it works perfectly  :D I have only updated the instructions a bit to make it clearer

Now get out there and start making some mods ......  ;)

You have to import every single mesh and change their position and rotation by using the hier.him and manually changing them all...
