P-26 with is own FM
« on: September 01, 2009, 09:40:36 AM »

Just to let you know that the latest unified buttons contains a P-26 flight model.

I therefore modified the existing P-26 class file to point him towards the new flight model instead of the Ki-27 one.

To install this mod just download the modified class file and drop it into your P-26 folder (back-up the old class file first) let him overwrite and there you are.

As this is a new FM feedback is appreciated

To avoid a 60% crash you will have to use the latest version of the unified buttons available at this site

Thanks to Deutschmark for the very nice 3d model and new slot if you want to know more about this mod you can look at this discussion thread:

I quickly tested the new FM and got about 370 KPH at SL.
But my P-26 still has adjustable radiator, should that be available?
At least the engine cowling doesn't have any adjustable flaps.

We dont know who's P26 fm that is, so we are not going to fiddle. This is just to give people a better fm than the one it had, until the time the AAA makes the proper one.

Well I tried to check on some of the plane features and I couldn't find conclusive information on the radiator. Overall the plane specifications are better represented in this FM than in the Ki-27 one. Most probably the bomb load of the plane should be changed from four 30 Kg bombs to one 200 pounds, that would be historically more accurate. I would thank all the people that contributed to this mod

I don't know if this is the right place, but it seems the P-26 is horribly pre-trimmed, rudder wise, which can't be corrected inflight due to the lack of rudder trim. Nose severely drifts to starboard at any throttle settings.

Be aware that the "original AAA" P-26 is using the Ki-27 FM, so it may be easier to fly but is not really an historically correct flight model

A little trick removes excess rack antennas in aircraft!  ::)
Duplicate the folder ~ / 3do/Cockpit/A5M4sas
Remove the folder ~ / 3do/Cockpit/P-26
A copy of the folder, rename A5M4sas --> P-26
File rename CockpitA5M4.him  --> Hier.him
Vu à la  ::)  ;)  ;D
(Screw a mirror, too, is not difficult ... Suffice it remove from Hier.him "/ /")

This may not be historical, but very necessary to attach to the aircraft landing hook. And if you can change the dynamics of the takeoff run in the FM...

The reason - the game is not carrier-based aircraft except Claude
We need aircraft carriers aircraft for 36-39 years

I have searched google but I can't seem to find any indication that this AC had any rudder trim control.
But the engine torque and rotation is wrong. AFAIK, no US warplanes had left-handed engine rotation except for the P-38.

We dont know who's P26 fm that is, so we are not going to fiddle. This is just to give people a better fm than the one it had, until the time the AAA makes the proper one.

CirX,
Since no one really knows who did the FM for this aircraft does this mean it will never be corrected here?
Couldn't this be considered an "off line only" thingie?
