@radko111: That is a really beautiful 3d model- probably way too many polys for IL2, and as many of the modders here have reminded us, even when the model is imported into the game, that's just the start of things, but we can dream, can't we?

Nope, thunda, i was just reacting to a post that tried to argue wether the stirling is beautiful or not.
Someone somewhere said something along the lines of "if you think the stirling is ugly, you are blind as a bat"

I just think statements like that are completely useless in a technical description like this and offend even me... i wear glasses and still think she has got one fugly face, you know.
So am i still blind as a Bat? And if so... can i not make the distinction between ugly and beautiful? Do i need to take a closer look at my Girlfriend? Does this mean she is ugly? do YOU mean to say i chose an ugly Girl as a Girldfriend?

Uh... Dangerous.

we had a "ugly Bomber" request some time ago... and guess who was named pretty early in the competition.
We could argue about this all day long...

You can talk to csocso about it, but the short stirling model in il2 spec is complete for at least LOD0 and I think it's mapped or was partially mapped. As a team we decided to basically discontinue the project due to the amount of work involved, see how long it's taken the MiG-21? The Stirling doesn't require jet stuff but being much bigger and complex in other ways will take it's time too. We haven't talked about this for a very long time but if there is someone who wants to take it up and put her into IL2 then I suggest you send csocso a pm and talk to him about it.

As I've said before, the time it takes to finish should not scare anyone away from making the plane - all the more reason to get on it right away.  Many of us would gladly wait however long it takes for a chance to fly this bird.
