F-3H

The McDonnell F3H Demon was a subsonic swept-wing United States Navy carrier-based jet fighter aircraft. After severe problems with Westinghouse J40 engine that was ultimately abandoned, the successor to the McDonnell F2H Banshee served starting in 1956 redesigned with the J71 engine.[1] Though it lacked sufficient power for supersonic performance, it complemented daylight dogfighters such as the Vought F8U Crusader and Grumman F11F Tiger as an all-weather, missile-armed interceptor[2] until 1964. It was withdrawn before it could serve in the Vietnam when it, and ultimately also the Crusader, was replaced by the extremely successful McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. McDonnell's Phantom, which was equally capable against ground, fighter and bomber targets, bears a strong family resemblance, as it was conceived as an advanced development of the Demon. The supersonic United States Air Force McDonnell F-101 Voodoo was similar in layout, but was derived from the earlier XF-88 Voodoo, which also influenced the Demon's layout.

F3H-2n Demon

First off, i think this plane would go great with the angled deck carrier that we have for the mid 50's and up. Seeing that the game has no carrier based jet fighters for the mid 50's except for the cougar, The Demon would be a great addition.

Note: Due to excellent visibility from the cockpit, the Demon earned the nickname "The Chair".

The Demon also had a tall nose gear. This caused the planes nose to sit higher than the rear of the plane when on the ground, this nose also came off the ground when coming to a stop after catching wires for carrier landings

since i didnt see that anyone ever made it.
You will realize that most requested planes never was made.
So see this section more as a place for suggestions than as for wishes.

next time simply make a "bump" post there and/or add a post with
what you think what is necessary to have more infos.
So you can move that thread to the top of its section.  ;)

I'm also new here and I'm just now starting to post.
Therefore I do this for you now: I merge your posts with the existing request.
Why? Ask all the members who complain about that its hard
to find things here. So we admins try to keep the forum more readable
and try to avoid double posts in generally.

read here what the moderator of this section says about double posting:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=16922.msg437731#msg437731
and here the rules for this section:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=12475.0

Please stick with this. :)
Thank you.
