Caproni Ca.135
« on: December 05, 2012, 02:40:32 PM »

As I'm sure you are aware, there is a distinct lack of Italian bombers in IL2-46 at the moment with only the SM79, the SM 81 mod and the CANT 1007z bis. This plane was not a major bomber but one that had many faults and was not well liked by the crews. However what makes this plane interesting is that it led to the creation of the 309-316 series which turned out to be a better result. Furthermore this plane can be used for a Spanish Civil War what if campaign as they were used by the Aviazione Legionaria to aid the Nationalists in Palma de Mallorca, despite the fact they we're left there and saw no combat. However they were used in combat by the Hungarians where they were used from the 27th of June 1941 all the way to the end of 1942 when they were relegated to training.

Still think it is an interesting plane though  :)

That's the thing with Italian Planes, they look amazing but they were never used to full potential, which is where IL2 1946 comes in :D
