Main maps I plan to release :

WOW Gilb57 - this is really great news, thanks for taking this on, and freeing up Asheshouse to complete all the great goodies he is working on -especially the new tanks & ships  :D
This map covers a vital part of action on both ends of the war & will certainly supply much milage.
Your rework of Maraz's Central Med map was a masterpiece & still one of my favorate maps, the city detail in Valetta on Malta was breathtaking. So really looking forward to your work on this map - although city details on this ambitious project might have to be toned down to save your sanity & frame rate!  ;D

Is this going to be a "Heavy" map, or will it be populated like a "Stock" map??

The BoF map is one of the favorites, along with the Circus map.

You're right ! For this map, the work won't be the same than Central Med's one because of the density.
The rule I'll try to follow:
everything that can be done by mission makers (standard FMB) will be left. That way, everyone can populate only the necessary part of this map. Towns will be populated but maybe more sparsely (CanonUK buildings). Airfields will have full runways, parkings & taxiways but only a few buildings.

I'm glad to see some new enthusiasm being injected into the BoF map.
Good luck with your project.

My work stalled when I started on the Rotterdam area. Probably the largest built up area, but similar to Lille in scale. I found that my AutoPop work was too dense for Rotterdam and would guess that the building density needs to be roughly half in these large city areas.

There is advantage in keeping high density in villages. These add a lot to the visual interest but do not have much affect on FPS.

Try the French site C6 or the following link,

I recall they have some May 1940 and Sedan campaigns

EARLY texture tests (Ardennes winter 44-45) :

It's the reason why I'll use Canon-UK's buildings : they allow big density without FPS dramatic dropdown. Only a few big cities are in your BoF map and they are a lot smaller than London or Paris ;)

I still need to know how to use Autopop  ::)
