Hi

I noticed something weird. My conf.ini is change itself. I read I can make much better looking water, setting it to water=3. And I read an another topic about specular=1 too. It looks good, so I changed it to specular=1, and I changed the water to water=3. I started the game, and I don't saw any different.
I looked at my cinf.ini again, and... The specular is still 1, but my water changed back to water=1!
Why? How? I did it a lot of time, and my water always changed back to water=1. My conf.ini is live! ???
Is this for me? Or what to do with this?

Im sure you saved the Conf.ini after making those changes correct?
Did you mess with the IL2 settings?

Yeah, I saved it.
But now I read the "Inside the CONFIG.INI" topic, and I think it changed back to water=1 because I havn't got enoughtly good video card. I try it now with Water=2 ^^"

Okay, now I set Water=2, it works now, it stay water=2, but I still have that ugly flat water D:

the only solution is to get a better video card, mate - preferably an nVidia.

To avoid conf.ini change by itself (truly is the game that update itself) you should right click on it's icon from main root , choose properties and enable read only....this 'll prevent any further change....but remember that any time you need test changes you must before disable the read only....

Like Malone said: a better video card.
I used to have a crappy card with flat water also but since I replaced it I have nice water with waves, better graphics in general and less stuttering.
If I were you I would check what card gets the max out of your system. Check out also what card is meant for gaming. Not every card with higher number gives better graphics and gameplay. 
The one I have used to be more than € 180,- but at the time I bought it the price was € 75,-. 
That's the cool thing with computer stuff. Have a bit of patience, wait a bit longer and prices decrease drastically.
