Old Alphasim's freeware Tu-16, may be used as base for building whole new model. But i dont know how to convert from *.mdl to 3DSMax-compatible formats and don't have skills for modelling.

to convert mdl to 3ds see here the tutorial I posted:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,7496.msg76735.html#msg76735

And BTW here the statement from Phil at Alphasim authorizing to use these models for other games

"Hi,
you can port our freeware titles over to other games, it's perfectly ok as long as you do not try to sell them.
Best regards,
Phil

AND it has seen considerable combat in the Egyptian AF, though most were destroyed on the ground by Vautours and Mysteres in the six day 67 war. They did see combat and flew several successful misns attacking Isreali positions in the 73 yom kippur war; there's some vids on Utube of this, showing open weapons bays dropping bombs in large clusters.

This AC is so versatile and can be used in scenarios from the late 50s into today, as the Chinese still hve thier own new versions in production (HU-6) as well as tankers.

If any of those models can be transferred over by our ingenius modelers, it would be one of hte most versatile planes in the sim.

Just a little story about this plane :
My father serve as a gunnery sergent in french artillery for 18 years. He have been send in Tchad in 1987 (I think, I wasn't born...). One day, a local boy, which help as a guide, have buy a "anti bomb" lucky charm. Of course, french soldier tell him it will not work, but he don't care and keep his lucky charm.

Some day later, my father and his men and the local boy were spotted by lybian Tu-16. They leave the truck and the cannon on the road ond find cover behin trees, they dig a small trench and and stay inside. bomber circle around a moment and bombed them with 500kg bombs. They hit the ground but didn't explode...
My father call HQ for reporting the situation, a explosive expert say it's maybe some delay bomb and the best change of survival is too stay hide.
They wait an hour before the local boy leave the cover and walk to ne nearest bomb. He shacke it, walk around, it them with is foot...but they didn't explose.
When explosive specialist reach location, the inspect one of these bomb for defusing it. Lybian armourer have forgot to remove one of the three sefety!

Local boy return to the french soldiers, show is lucky charm and they "you see, it's work!" The guru of the village is now a rich man, every one of the vilager want the same lucky charm!

:P That's incredible Ivan. The LAF never was too swooft (SU-22s firing a rear aspect only Atoll at F-14s head on, etc  8) ) and this fits. I guess that charm was pretty lucky. Not very cost effective to go flying around looking for single vehicles to bomb in a Tu-16.

Love the avatar with the 1928 Thompson and the drum mag.  8)
