It gets better and better!

Is the map-maker going to retile the composite map? Those original stock maps look pretty obsolete nowadays!

And how about remaking it to include a lot more sea and sticking some of Bessarabia in to the map in the west? That would allow us to go hunting convoys steaming from Odessa to Sevastopol.

That is excellent !

I think that combining maps like this is a very good idea ! as syay mandrill, if this map is joined with the Bessarabia one, and also with the Caucasus map (which is a mod), we can have almost all the North coast of the Black Sea !

But also, I think it is good to have maps like this, using only stock objects and textures, because they will probably be lighter to load for medium range systems like mine... just a personal advice, mandrill ! I hope you will not mind if it is different to yours !

Using custom or mod textures will not delay your loading time or strain your computer. It would be the same as using stock textures.

There are more problems. I loaded the map and checked it out. The roads in the Kuban run OVER THE TOP OF the mountains, not through the passes and the forests don't fit very well either.

I think that the map creator has made some small errors in combining the map_h and map_t.

BlackSea map revival
« Reply #10 on: February 28, 2015, 08:26:05 AM »

BlackSea map as merged Crimea and Kuban maps were substantially reworked by yt2 from Aviaskins, who repaired several issues of the former unfinished work. Discussions on improving joined default maps of this region are running:

Have you tried the new map, Uzin?

In my experience, significant additions and deletions in the map_c will mess up the map_t and populating of the map. You can get away with some straightening out of rivers and some minor additions / deletions; but as soon as you start removing whole stretches of river or entire lakes, you get villages which are suddenly many pixels away from where you put them before you made the change.

Adding a whole new piece of map must do the same thing.
