Hey Guys,

Just came across this interesting profile of a uniquely equipped Blenheim Mk I !



Perhaps someone with references to Aussie Squadron Codes could trace down which Squadron was identified "SK" and whether they in fact used torpedo loadouts.
I am not even sure this is not an imaginary loadout,

Yes, and working Blenheim cockpit in 4.10...It worked both for MkI and MkIV in Up2.01, but in 4.10 works only for Mk.IV

RAAF squadron codes: Malaya, Middle East and Europe, 1939 - 1945, & Australia and Pacific, 1943 - 1945
marks it as (drum roll)

As for that Blenhiem, think it's a what if. I looked, shamefully, at Wikipedia and saw nothing about RAAF Blen's using torpedoes like this.
Hopefully someone with more resources can bring details, if any, to light.

Well, the detail in the profile, showing what I am assuming is a remotely operated barbette for rearward defence, has the yellow 'P' for prototype just visible. I cant imagine what a Mk1 Blenheim would fly like with a full size torpedo slung underneath. Looks nice, though!

Australia was in the process of ordering Blenheim's when the war had other ideas. The RAAF instead ordered the Hudson bomber and started a production line for the Beaufort Torpedo bomber.

As for a Torpedo variant of the Blenheim MkI, looks interesting, time to dig up all my reference material again to see what I can find.

I just found a 75% complete MkI cockpit I was working on, if I get the time I'll try and finish it off
