Wow, now this is a nicely and finely made map. Great use of textures, especially in urban areas (which can be frustratingly difficult to pull off sometimes), good populating and also a very atmospheric and colorful FMB map. FMB maps my not have much to do with playability of a map, but since it is the first thing you see when loading the map, it does influence how one feels about a map. And this one is graphically spot-on, couldn't have better approximated the winter feel.

You also did a first rate job populating the cities and urban areas, especially those in Belgium and northern France. Flying over Lille, you really get a good feeling of the industrial sprawl that is typical of the region.

This map is going to become a classic and a keeper. Great work.

Since you asked about bugs or things to report, I should perhaps mention that at Anvers (or Antwerp) there are no bridges across the river anywhere. Not a single one, not even now in 2011. For some inscrutable reason the inhabitants of Antwerp (the city I live in) have this vehement thing against bridges, the latest proposal being voted away just a year or 2 ago. In 1944, there were ferry's still plying the river and one lousy small tunnel. Nothing more. The first bridge across the river is upstream about 25 km. That was why the river Scheldt was still such a big obstacle, and still remains so.

So perhaps it might be best to remove all bridges at Anvers/Antwerp, or at most leave just one to simulate the tunnel.

It might also be a good idea to use either Dutch or English names for the cities Anvers and Gand - those being respectively Antwerpen/Antwerp and Gent/Ghent.

Congratulations, Mr. Babin, on an excellent piece of work. :)
Since I do not run JGSME, prefering instead the straight SASModact, I simply took your Tex and map and dropped them in my mapmod folder.  Had to hunt down the proper add for my all.ini in the JGSME one you sent.  Once that was done, your map loads and saves perfectly for me.  I would have liked to use that airfield texture you included, however I'm a tad uncertain as to exactly where that "files/3do" item goes :-\, so I left it alone.
Beautiful textures.
Many thanks. :)

Hi fritzofpeace.

Drop the files/3do folder straight into your MODS/STD folder and that should work....

I did it "outside" JGSM as well, and it works like a charm, saves, flies - no problems!

Sir, this is a GREAT achievement, and is bound to be one of the map classics. Again: THANKS!!!

Good idea :every bug-fix that will allow me to erase a few things are welcome (More than 6mb is a little "heavy" for the actors.static ;) )

Great map! I installed it in my SAS mod-activated game (in the MODS/Mapmods folder) and it works fine. I love the detail, especially in towns. Occasionaly the map appears a bit heavy, though I didn't notice FPS drops (the game froze after I had taken numerous snapshots in a selected hazy sky, which has happened before with 'heavy' maps). Un grand merci, Mr Babin! 8)
