I know very little about these things, but I will say that my GTX 460 1GB has been excellent in IL2.

Hi DA,

I have a 9800GT as well and late last year the fan on it died.

What I did was take an old processor fan (from another old rig I had kept for parts) and mounted it so that the fan blows directly onto the card. It actually does a better job than the dinky little fan on the 9800 did in the first place and I haven't had to replace it yet.

A solution like this would get you out of trouble in the short term but the 9800GT is definitely getting long in the tooth. Good card though, you can't kill it with a stick.
