IL-2 1969 Peace, Love and a Football War

Map Installation Things You Need
Il-2 4.10 and patch 1   4.10.1

SAS Mod Act 3 and up to 3.6

Boomers Object pack latest January update

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,12257.0.html

UPDATE 2

You should have a working version of the current update 1 version.

1)   Take out the original ELSAL map folder only
2)   Replace with ElsalHonNic map folder

all.ini    ElsalHonNic ElsalHonNic/load.ini

remove the old ELSAL ELSAL/load.ini

DO NOT remove the ELSAL _Tex Folder located in

MAPMODS/Maps/_Tex/ELSAL

Overwrite the new ELSAL Tex Folder to the old one  (new sugar cane field textures)

(I’m still restructuring that folder)

Population
Centered at Managua and surrounding areas around Lake Managua (cattle ranches).

Textures
New sugar cane fields around Blue Fields.

Roads and Bridges
Added a road system with a number of bridges along Nicaragua’s main coastline.

Map Adjustments
Moved Blue Fields further down the coast to its true location It was off by a large lagoon or two ooops!

ED Map
A better ed map with some main city names I haven’t gone crazy with them as yet.
The ed map is better aligned and airfields are ok when you zoom in. Some bridges look a tad off.

Ufflakke's No Ads MOD Looks Superb    ;) :D ;D 8) :)

UPDATE 1
IL-2 1969 Peace Love and a Football War

If you haven’t already, down load the initial map  install and follow instructions in the thread and the read me.

Uufflakke’s NEW Add on’s.

Uufflakke has created an environment mini package for this map.
He created a very dense tropical wood set.
He created new dark and fruiting (jungle figs perhaps) trees.
He also made a set of cloud tga’s.

Uufflakke has brought this map to life I’m looking for Howler monkeys and Mawcaws flying above when I’m on the ground.

The environmental map additions are all placed in the _Tex/ELSAL folder.
He made it very simple no fiddling around with forest/summer/?

Just OVER WRITE the _Tex/ELSAL folder (texture folder)

To view the environmental mini pack by Uffallake make sure to

Just OVER WRITE the MAPMODS/Maps/ELSAL (map folder)

You will see a completely new effect to the map.

He also created a recent mod that covers up a lot of the buildings advertising a recent cover up the ic Maddox sign.

To install the advert cover up  MOD see the file structure in the rar file.

#SAS/ +++++ELSAL-noAds

I added some pluses to the folder name so it will not  affect UP_Boomers Object Pack.
Be sure to disengage the animated Coca Cola sign if you have that going.

Thanks to Tom2’s testing in Nicaragua a couple of airstrips have been rectified.

Warning
With the new water colour
Carmaster's Water 4 MOD works very well
Carmaster's IL-2 Light MOD give the ocean a two tone blue liney ray sun effect especially around the evening.
Carmasters's IL-2 Light MOD did not affect the old dark blue colour

General Flying

Some Airfields are reasonably easy. Some airfields are difficult and tricky but that is Central America for you.
It will take abit of time to get use to the map as some strips you can really only take off in one direction.
I included both landing ways to make it more interesting.
Missions take some time to develope as your always checking to see if you crash into mountains.

I sure hope Loenne, Craken or Poltava can do an amzing campaign for this map  ;D :D

In bad weather conditions the mountain regions are very hazardous  :-[

Excellent work looks almost real worth the wait. Now one question will this fine map work in 410.1 since most of us have went to it.

Amazingly the frp's are quite low over the capital around 500 m you do get a little bit of shuttering but still easily flown. Lower altitude even easier and very fun. It does not look like a shutter bug camera movie as I've seen in other maps. Banana crop areas they change colour green shades,at a low altitude flying towards them then change colour green shades flying after them. At about 500 m you just see the buildings and roads. I chose bananas as they would have lower frp's then palms.

SAS MOD Act and 4.101 and UP Boomers recent Object Pack is a must. I've done a lot of testing on 4.101 mainly using stock corsairs, mustangs c-47's and A-20's (invaders) for the Football war and P-47's and P-38's for late 40's to 50's area.

A second map late 40's/50's minus the skycrapers in all cities.

Invasion of Honduras by Nicaragua 1955. Plus other ops CIA etc.

I've tested airfields in El Salvador and Honduras some are easy some are pretty hairy. At first I always test automatic pilot (see if I and or A1's crash in to mountains). Now I am second aircraft as player and getting better results when taking off/landing in tests automatic pilot flying..

I have not tested all of Nicaragua's airfields as yet.

El Salvador jungle / rural towns will be very colourful after some research this week. naturally additions of coffee plantations in the hills areas.

Also some ranches in the lowland areas.

Skycrapers, I'm sure you can land on them just haven't tested that yet. They do not have a damage model. They are indestructable so you could nuke the entire capital and they will still stand. I still have to fly in between them he he  ;) 8)

Both countries have a road network and one rail network each for now.

Busy fingures this week  :D ;D

Had to try in the new SAS Mod Act 3

When a download link is provided you will need the following

Game 4.10 Patch 1 (4.10.1)
SAS Mod Act 3

UP_Boomers Object pack. ( I replace the provided static.ini about 216kb in #SAS/STD/......static.ini with UP_Boomers static.ini about 750 kb (Works wonderfully)

Found some screenshots of your map at Aviaskins:

Uuuh...inspired by 9/11???
If I was that pilot I prefer to ram the 1C skyscraper for the release of their unfinished pre-bèta Work in Progress COD drama.  ;)

Hi Uffalakke,

I hope you liked your little recognition for your skyscrapers MOD.

I was thinking about putting a note about please refrain from flying in to the skyscrapers.

Think of the immense loss of lives on that day.

I would have also only  noted to fly between them which is cool

The map had to have a modern look for 1969 60's and early 70's.

Again people the skycrapers do not have a damage model you'll be the sorry ass up in the heavens.

The skycrapers will be unscathed.

I like the helicopter pics in the screenshots.

Cheers kirby
