Again small update this Sunday,

more towns in Honduras and El Salvador (maybe some more coffee plantation areas)

minor texture detailing

road adjustments etc.

I got pissed off with the rail system in El Salvador an initial system from San Salvador to Santa Ana will be put in.

Tom mentioned a lake / waterfall in the map in his great test report. There are a few areas like that. I may rework them a bit to make each area look more natural/prettier.

I'll post a screenie of another region I made with a massive waterfall a vertical river so to speak.
Then you'll really see what I mean.

If Uffalakke is keen he may be able to cover the rest of the skycrapers giving time or people can have an option
advertizing or no advertizing.I'll pm him and ask him nicely. To me the advertizing is ok except the ic maddox one it is pretty gaudy and stands out like dogs balls. Mobile and others ok.

Hello Kirby, you are very welcome reg. testing..

Thanks for your explanations. I like the 60s to 70s era, I also like the use of older aircraft with central American skins!
PS: I suppose with properly planned flights the other northwestern base may be no problem.

Here is a now probably outdated folder with 2 screenies and a fun screeny only showing the map with some notes.
Just disregard if unimportant..
Last night I was a bit low on brain voltage. :D

Look forward to updates, the map is very cool! :)

Cheers

PS: I have-accidently :-[ deleted some of my photobucket screens and this way porked this and the screenshot thread with ugly "this file has been removed or delted" messages. I uploaded most of them and changed the post where I couldn't find the screens so that those photobucket messages are gone. :D

Cheers

T.

PS: Totally unimportant, but agree, IMHO the ic advertising on skyscrapers stands out a bit..but Uufflakke did a very great job!!  ;D

Actually I completely forgot about the Coca-Cola mod I created. This tiny animation was just an experiment not realizing it would be released as an option for his map.  ;D

@Farang65: please check PM about the ads/no ads on rooftops.   ;)

Thanks to Tom2's testing in Nicaragua.  :D ;D

Here's some new recent adjustments for the update on Sunday.

The two problem airfields.

The one in the centre of the map near the Honduran border has been changed entirely to a new airfield
and jet friendly as it is considered a frontline airfield.

The other problem strip has been moved some and turned completely around. Migs fly and land quite easily now.

Thanks again to Tom's testing  8)

These new adjustments will be in the update on Sunday.

Thanks for checking in Pete.

Uufflake has created another outstounding addition for this map  :D ;D :P

He created a dense jungle wood set which really makes the map seem teeming with life now  ;D

His version colours

My version colours. All that I did was darken a few of the wood tga's and increase the yellow to green

If you like one or the other or both let me know

This set will be included in the next update on Sunday.

Another fine add on by Uufflake  Thank you sir

A mega quick search indicated:

Honduras:
Everything fromdark to light+yellowish green
Many palms on the beaches. :)

El Salvador
Full  and also light green..darker green on mountains and groups of singular yellow trees/plants as well, light green grass fields similar to what you created. :D

Nicaragua
All from jungle light lush green to darker green and brownish landscape at Granada.
Some pics almost looked like a Pacific area. Especially coastal areas.
I didn't look for shallows, only noticed some neach areas where green followed by strong not too dark blue very soon.

The sea looks very blueish at some areas. Definately nice IMO that you did not chose the default dark blue of Pacific maps. Even CzechTexan's Puerto Rico blue will fit very nice, I think I will try that too for myself. (I have a love for that map too :D)

I think a choice of lighter vivid green or darker green with a bit yellow in it may be nice, but this is totally your choice :), cool to see trees on that map!

Maybe even the Southern European houses pack may fit here.

I'd like to test something when I have time tonight, I had some issues in my Histomod install with some missions close to Guatemala. Black sies for some reason and crashes. But I will check it again in ModAct3 ;).

IMHO you should decide which trees and colors to choose.. :

Cheers

Tom

Day before release Update 1 information   :)

Populating

about 5 new towns in Honduras, about 5 new towns in El Salvador and added more coffee plantaions actors static may be around 2000kb

ed_map

changed back to original microdem ed map for now. At least the bases match up to the photo when zooming in

map_h

readjusted some waterfall areas to make them look better, checked rivers for any unslightly open air triangles  also readjusted some roads for easier driving.

Road and Rail

readjusted some initial road work

Wood

from Uuffallake's wood jungle set. The map is teeming with life

Problem airstrips in Nicaragua

changed one airstrip entirely
rotated and moved some the other airbase

A couple of surprises in this coming update (one by Uuffallake :D ;D)

Update 1 Sunday ;D ;)

You'll need the entire set of object downloads from UP-Boomer.

The January update 9 2011 was his last update on the project.

I've used a lot of objects from it and it is a must.  ;)

Please see a link to Up_Boomer's Object pack in my start thread of IL-2 1969 Peace, Love and a Football War.

Lot of downloading but worth it.

Install it as you see in Up_Boomer's thread.

I replace his static.ini with the currently provided static.ini in SAS Mod Act 3
