I can't resist myself. I have started building a RAF campaign for this EPIC map, starting with the Italian declaration of War in 1940. The missions are as far as possible based on historical missions. (I am using Christopher Shores History of the Mediterranean Air War as my primary source.)

Above you see a combined patrol of Gladiators and Hurricanes take off from Sidi Barrani in June 1940, to patrol the Libyan border. And below they clash with Italian CR.42's.

Again thanks for this GREAT map, RedEye_Jir! :P

Poltava, how did you get this to work in HSFX 5? I edited the all.ini and restructured the folders to use JSGME, but I get a load error when I try to open it in FMB even though it's included in the maps list. I noticed there is no texture folder included with the map- is it using textures and/or objects that are not included in HSFX?
EDIT; Never mind, I figured it out- I had made a mistake in the arrangement of the folders.

RealDarko!

Yes, it will! At least the initial part. It is a 27-mission static campaign starting with the Italian declaration of war in June 1940, over the Italian invasion of Egypt in September and the British counteroffensive in December (“Operation Compass”) all the way to the Battle of Beda Fomm and the near collapse of the Italian rule in Libya in February 1941. It stops just about when Rommel and the Luftwaffe entered the fray, and altered the whole picture. That will perhaps be another campaign…

It follows closely the historical course of the fighting, and many mission are based on actual operations. You will start out with the Gladiator, but eventually switch over to the Hurricane. The Squadron in the campaign is loosely based on 274 Squadron, the first all-Hurricane squadron in the Mid-East.

The campaign is already built, and is being playtested as we speak, and I hope to release it within a week  ;D

Do you think this can be converted to a co-op campaign? Perhaps by opening in FMB and un-checking the "Player" box?

Some of the missions certainly could. Be my guest and have a try when I post the campaign!

I liked it.
