Paste the following line into your all.ini file:

Notes:

This map is a WIP.  Others are welcome to finish it.  I got the idea a couple years ago to have a map for the Viet Minh/French conflict.  Historically the Viet Minh did not have an air force so air combat in IL2 would be very limited.  However, a fictional air force and a little imagination could be very interesting.

The map can also be used to recreate WW2 USAAF 14th Air Force bombing raids on Hanoi and Haiphong.  B-25s, B-24s, and "Flying Tigers" P-40s had some big raids and combat with Japanese planes there.  Personally, I would use the airfield at Lao Cai (in far north Vietnam) and the airfields in south China as fictional bases for the 14th AF. -CzechTexan

agracier - for doing most of the work so far, especially with textures and edmaps.

CzechTexan - airfields, Haiphong docks and railroad station (graciously copied from Mixx).

Same here, thanks, CzechTexan. Look forward to Vietnam style flights. ;) :D

Fly your Puerto Rico since I downloaded it, which is my favourite island together with Benghalli. :)

You're all welcome.  I really didn't do very much.  Thanks should go to agracier for doing most of the work.
The download is 80mb because it includes several photos of Indochina airfields...the owner of FrenchWings website was kind enough to help out with those.  Just thought I'd include those in case anyone else might like to see.  I tried to make a couple of the airfields like the photos.

This map is not finished.  I will not do anymore work on it.  However, the door is open to anyone else who would like to add to it.  I'd like to see a future release as a much more finished version.  I'm sure agracier would like the same.
I'd especially like to see the Dien Bien Phu region improved.  I added an airfield there but I think someone else could do a much better job populating it or changing its texture.

All of the airfields will accommodate jets.  They have been tested.  It was tricky trying to get the right runway position so that A/I planes would not crash into mountains.  That took alot of work!  The airfield at Lao Cai is best to make a landing at the northwest end but smaller prop planes should make it at the other end.

For skinners... here is a discussion about making skins for the Viet Minh airplanes with a Viet Minh insignia.
http://www.allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=27291&p=312660&hilit=viet+minh#p312660
If there are any skinners looking for something new to do then there you go.
For fictional missions, I'd think of it as something like a Korean War scenario or just Viet Minh vs. French.
I'd like to see VM insignia on planes like the IL-10, Yak-3, La-7 etc.

I didn't get around to making any screenshots so I welcome others to add yours here.
Hey Tom2, Puerto Rico is still my favorite island map too!

Cool shots, Sir!

I took some yesterday, albeit in a boringly close distance to my naked Sabre.

Cheers

Hello CzechTexan, here is an image of the only skin that was actually posted at AAA or AAS in answer to your request:

It has been in my PaintSchemes folder ever since waiting patiently for the others to join it.

Sadly the others weren't posted, if I remember correctly one was a captured 406 and the other a Ki-43.

EDIT: By US_Grant and Archie.

This is the first time I've seen those by Beebop. 8)  It would be great if all the skin WIPS that were
posted then could be put together in a pack with those from Beebop.

We now have three Vietnam maps on which to put them to good use, maybe someone could also do some Quick missions for each map eh. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
