SCW I-16 Type 5
« on: June 11, 2011, 03:58:59 AM »

For a long time it was in my mind adapting to type 5 SCW skins using color samples from direct sources. A example of that you can see in Type 10 WC mod default skin by Aroman. As he was working in I-16 type 10 and myself was occupied in Japancat early 109 we don't pay attention to type 5, later lack of time did we left it without his adequate skins. Now with UP 3.0 a series of mission incomming in my squad and a little time I get did the thing, it was too many time without it :).

Here's a little SCW I-16 type 5 pack with some examples from the very early days, mid, and late war. While I usually make my own skins from start this time I had to use an awesome template from aviaskins, it's a lot of time saved. Everyone of them from photo sources, as always, although some not very good photos but it's what we have. And with colors taken directly form the source, some preserved paint chips left in aircraft crash...

I think a time ago somebody was requesting those skins around here also. Hope with a lite more time I can finish some more examples for this beauty.

Enjoy!

XDDDD

It's a trick for screening purposes, I left openned canopy and then bailed out that opens door ;). But yes, it would be a great add having an openable door.

But you mean open door independent of cockpit, isn't it? I fly sometimes with open canopy in Type 5, if door opens together with canopy will not be very good :).
