New SFS Extractor V3.1 by PAL
Updated on June the 30th, now Fully Implemented and some bugs observed are corrected!
People,
since the year 2007 we have been using the traditional SFS Extractor made by our big daddy QTim.
But it always was Beta, with some basic (but useful) functions and that was all. Some time ago Frog added some multifile utilities but nothing was ever done to try to optimize or improve it in general.
What I bring to you is this:
Now it is Release Candidate (RC), but everything works as far as I could check.
Just extract the contents of this .rar and run the SFSExtract.exe:
Old RC version:
What does it have new:
-Completely remade visual.
-File List for checking names of extracted files is not more loaded from a basic filelist.txt file. Now it reads from the SFSExtract.lst file. The advantage is that it has already the Hash values of the files saved there and it makes it faster to load.
-You can import easily any filelist.txt from wherever and the program will add them to it's "Database". All these options are controlled from the Tools Menu. Even you can clear temporarily (for the session) that DataBase and load a reduced FileList to look for a specific set of files (i.e. JetWar filelist and you will only see those files resolved). When exiting the program you say "No" to save the changes in the FileList Database and that's all.
-Now if you register the .SFS files (Register Menu), with a double click you can open any .SFS file with the SFS Extractor V3.
-Many weird things were corrected and improved.
-Search methods for resolving names have been improved (now it's faster and more efficient).
-Since version 3.1 it has the capacity of extracting multiple files, perform unattended extractions, etc.
Credits for:
-QTim, author of the original program and the one who made the sources available in which I have worked over.
-Storebror for some of his ideas on the new wrappers, that I took and implemented in my way here.
-Frog for the idea of Multi Selection.
-CirX, for detailed analysis and suggestions: Create Folder implemented. The order for Unattended Extraction is basically impossible to establish, because the file list is parsed in alphabetical order. But with my version you can mount multiple files in the Window and depending in which coulmn you click to order the files by it, the order in which they are extracted will be different. Establishing manually the order over a list of .SFSs can be done but it will be more complicated. Regards,
Pablo (PAL)
Edit and link updated (just redownload) after:Good idea... but not work !
"RTL150.BPL" not found !
Epervier,
I have updated the link. Sometimes it happens with the compiler. In all my computers I have the same development environment and I don't receive any message, but in a plain one those libraries are required.
Now it's independant of that file. Check to download it again and it should work.
The name of the program now is SFSExtract.exe
