I did the same thing as Guzknife and renamed Oil1_D0].msh  to Oil1_D0.msh in Seafires_MkI_II_Veltro_SAS\3do\Plane\SeafireMkI(Multi1).
It works flawlessly.

I have the Seafires MkII, but the Seafire MkI won't show up for me.

I am running 4.12.1 SAS Modact 5.22

Any clues why the IIs work, but the MKI won't even appear in QMB.  I did make the change Guzknife suggested.

Hate to say this guys, but the correction was the cause of the problem for me.  I replaced the whole early seafire file and did not edit the .msh file and now it works for me.

Just saying.

I love the planes.

A little tought about them:

- Seafire MkIb is correct;
- Seafire MkII have some incongruence:

The Mk.II series was devloped in 3 sub-variants:

1) F.Mk.IIc with Merlin 45 (1470 hp) or 46 (1415 hp) and 3 blade propeller (less diffuse variant);
2) L.Mk.IIc with Merlin 32 (1640 hp) and 4 blade propeller (most diffuse variant) OR Merlin 55M (1585 hp) and 3 blade propeller (few planes);
3) LR.Mk.IIc (recon version not available as mod) with Merlin 32 (1640 hp) and 4 blade propeller.

So we have only 2 of 5 versions corrected....the others need a 4 blade propeller and since starting from the 90th plane the production of the Mk.II was done without air filter (they exchanged additional wearing of engines for better performance) maybe a late version without air filter as 3d option (because IIRC the game don't hamper performance in air filter provided planes....).

What I suggest is:

Mk.Ib with Merlin 45 or 46 , 3 blade propeller , with air filter;
F.Mk.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 45 or 46 , 3 blade propeller , with air filter;
L.MK.IIc (2xH) with Merlin 32 , 4 blade propeller , with or without air filter option;
L.MK.IIc (4xH) with Merlin 32 , 4 blade propeller , with or without air filter option;
L.Mk.IIc with Merlin 55M , 3 blade propeller without air filter.

Thanks for your attention!

All the very best!

Hi Walter nice initiative. My two cents on this: no version with 4 Hispano's, as 'a Seafire thus armed was a very rare sight because the extra weight penalty was a prohibitive factor as fa ras carrier take-off's where concerned.' At least that's what Profile Nr. 221 says about it. This also gives a small difference in engines and propellors:

Supermarine built the F IIc, with Merlin 45 or 46 with 3 bladed propellor,
Westland built the L IIc and LR IIc, with Merlin 32 and 4 bladed propellors.

So perhaps we could do with fewer versions, but the choise with or without the Vokes air filter would be very welcome.

Sorry my bad!

F IIc, with Merlin 45 or 46 with 3 bladed propellor while L IIc with Merlin 32 and 4 bladed propellors....

....my post corrected!

I agree about the 4 guns variant and the same can be applied to the clipped wing one , but as we have 5 slot I add what can be the better choice for me; anyway if for the future 412.1 DBW someone like to modify the pack his word 'll be the last!!!

All the very best!

Wow! adding the two updates to the files gave me this Mk II Merlin 50

And, from the read me I wa under the impression that we finally would have a Mk II without Vokes airfilter, but I can't find it. What am I doing wrong??

But thanks for udating this mod

Installation procedure is safe, but can be tricky, depending on you have latest WinRar or 7zip,
older versions may crunch things up. Just telling, as I recently upgraded both.
Download again all 3 archives, just to be safe using a dl-Manager.

I resist in giving you the complete folder.
Such a repost is not needed nor necessary, that way making it harder for SAS Staff to
see what I tinkered with exactly. Though some Users experience issues. But this can happen to all of us.
What I offer are exactly the Files I tinkered with, leaving the SAS Seafire Archive, which you need anyway.

UP3, HSFX or DBW?
Remember, to not try to force this on these installs, as
they're part of their sfs base files already. No out of the box support hence.

in a plain CUP/Modact 5.30 all fine, did a fresh install too, before you ask I
redownloaded them too, to get exactly the matching Folders, to check if I missed sth.,
but all stuff is in place :D

If you match 4.12 install as stated, you missed sth. try again then

Best wishes
