To guys who have been installing extra planes into DBW, we need some feedback from you please.

This is for guys who have installed 10 or more extra planes in their DBW.

We would like to know how many extra planes you installed, and , if you have played any long missions or long sessions with this install (30 mins or longer) and if you have had any problems.

In my personal DBW I have 10 new slots installed, and I have experienced no problems. My average missions time is less than 20 to 30 minutes (using time compressions), and my average session time (with the game lauched till game closed) is perhaps usualy beween 1 and 2 hours.

the above in bold is the sort of info I am looking for.

Also, tell us a little about the setting you use on your selector, and your PC (Operating System, RAM)

Cheers!

PS: If you want to go ahead and list these extra planes that work well, please do! (it will help a bit with choosing planes to add to updates) :)

Ki-44-II-Hei
J7W1
J4M1

additionally several maps, several updates for planes... other stuff like effects, MissionPro, even 4.09 CertAI (hell I am DESPERATE!!!)
everything running well, sessions up to well over an hour, single missions over half an hour... never any trouble. time compression as well.

I'm running with these addon mods with DBW that are located in the below screen shot... and so far have been experiencing off & on crashes during game play.

I have tried the fix that SAS~Gerax suggests in another thread [below] and also have tried adding & deleting mods that I have suspected might be having conflicts. But so far haven't had any luck pin pointing the cause or causes. Over all this is an excellent mod pack and it has superior game play and options... but it still has a few bugs or I'm just installing the extra mods incorrectly or have the game not setup properly?

Look for a file ~wrapper.cache (or so) in your games folder and delete it before new start. (use the forums "Search option" for more info about enabling/disabling selectors experten-Cache).

When Cache is ON and you have this ~wrapper.cache file then your new added mods are NOT read by the game, only the (now old) content of this chache file is read. And ... no joy with new mods.

So, while adding/enabling/uninstall etc of mods to your DBW you should disable the wrapper option and/or ALWAYS remember to delete this cache file BEFORE doing some install stuff..

FX57/3G ram/7800GTX KO SLI

I run a lot of ground/convoy strikes and interception mission that are about 30-45 min's or so in length... with about 2-3 hr's computer time in total.

Hello CirX, here is an image of the contents of my #DBW folder:

For a clearer view of added aircraft here they are in the Air:

A-26              air.A_26    1                                 usa01 SUMMER
Trimotor          air.TRIMOTOR 1                        NOINFO  usa01 SUMMER
DC-3B-Airliner    air.DC_3B 1                                   usa01 SUMMER
F6C4Hawk          air.F6C4Hawk a                                usa01 SUMMER
L-72              air.L_72 1                            NOINFO  r01   SUMMER
LiberatorGR.V     air.Liberator_GR_V 1                          usa01 SUMMER
Autogyro          air.Autogyro 1                                pl01  SUMMER
HurricaneMkIIHercules    air.HurricaneMkIIHercules 1            gb01  SUMMER
B-24D              air.B_24D 1                                  usa01 SUMMER
D510               air.D510 1                                   usa01 SUMMER
D570               air.D570 1                                   usa01 SUMMER
He-60             air.He60 2                            NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
SwordfishMk.II     air.SW2 1                            NOINFO   gb01 SUMMER
MS-500            air.MS_500 1                           NOINFO gb01  SUMMER
MS-502            air.MS_502 1                           NOINFO gb01  SUMMER
MS-505            air.MS_505 1                           NOINFO gb01  SUMMER
OKA-38            air.OKA_38 1                           NOINFO r01   SUMMER

None of the aircraft have been flown extensively, merely trips around airfields just to test basic flight.

Not all weapon options have been tried, although the A-26 and Swordfish II have and work.

The He-60 originally CTD, but on advice from yourself a check was made of classfiles in the XTD folder and the mod; a conflicting file was de-activated.  This mod seaplane will not land on water, a problem already known.

The CY6_AC-47 has been added to the DBW folder because it contains files posted in that thread which change the fuselage interior to a far better appearance.  The aircraft on one map it was used on where I was piloting the Jeep mod was pink and actually fell out of the sky, there was also a rather weired view to the screen, other aircraft exploded.  Tried the aircraft in another mission and was fine piloted or AI.

The new MS 502 may conflict with files of the other aircraft already in game.  It flies fine but will only accept one skin in a mission, when others are tried the aircraft is Pink.

Some of the aircraft contain files for the self stationary by Epervier, these work fine although I tried the Stationary aircraft V 1.5 which would not show any of the modded aircraft that have been included with DBW.

It maybe that all the mods I've added could be causing some form of conflict with each other or the content of DBW, unfortunately I don't have the technical ability to determine what they may be so hopefully this post will be of some help to you and the rest of the technical team at SAS and UP.

Mission bug, what you describe sounds like version or instllation faults, incompatibilites with mods of some, ect. What I am after here is guys who experience total game crash, after adding a lot (more than 10) new slot planes.

Do you have that?

I have 19 new aircraft installed and have experienced no problems after I disabled the Mod Cache in the IL-2 Selector.  My recent DBW missions (using only QMB) have been between 15 minutes and an hour.  My sessions tend to last about 2 to 3 hours.  I’ve been using the QMB to test various aircraft for a campaign I am building.  Most of the missions I have created (tested) contain between about 20 and 60 aircraft.

My current system is Windows 7 Pro, i7 processor @ 3.8 GHz, 8GB RAM, EVGA GTX 470 video card, TrackIR5, Saitek X52 PRO with Rudder Pedals, and I’m using a 32” HD TV (1080P) as a monitor.

My selector settings are Dark Blue World,  RAM 1200MB, Selector exits with IL2, 6Dof – TrackIR enabled, & 4 GB Address Space enabled.

A screen shot of my desktop with the Selector and the DBW folder open is below:

Hope this is what you wanted ... TS

Hi CirX

I installed two more planes (# 11 and 12 then, M33 and Dh-89) and got two "memory cannot be read" CTDs in two missions (which had nothing to do with the new planes)

I uninstalled them, back to 10 additionals and no more CTDs.

I tested, trimotor installed (11), no further CTD. M-33 installed (12), CTD at the end of the first mision again. so for me 10, 11 seems to be sort of a limit.

Hello CirX, I have I think now eighteen aircraft installed and apart from the now fixed problem with the He-60 I have had no CTD.  There are occasionally memory errors but that seems to be the only problem encountered so far.

Bye the way, will you be integrating these aircraft which appear to be ok into the SFS files of UP and DBW or will we still need to add them manually to our installation?

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Ran a variety of QMB missions for about 2 hours last night with these mods and had no crashes during game play. Also I have all versions of the Ki-44's up and running with no problems.

I have had no CTD.  There are occasionally memory errors but that seems to be the only problem encountered so far.

do you mean the "memory error" theat makes you click OK and then the game CTDs?
Because this is what I get and I would also call it a memory error as well as a CTD, although you have to click OK to "aknowledge" the CTD.
