Italy build something like 12.000 plane from 1939 to 1945, too few :(
That may be still more than Italy has now, of any type; mil or civ, flyable & Italian registered, methinks, this is true for most European countries.

Maybe move this other bit elsewhere Mods...

Were all might be Euro-doomed, apparently one of the persons behind the Euro has become IMF boss, but cos' Euro-states cannot lower their currency with sovreignty/national powers and there is no legal way to opt out of Maastricht Treaty, Greece & Eurozone are being locked into a insolvent cycle of bailouts and when the chaos following after the future possible Euro collapse, means most politicians ignore this tiny fact of economics & law for '..after the fact'.

Or similar general explaination was said by Micheal Portillo on last nights BBC's polotics 'The One Show'. So thats one of the reasons why Britain never joined, we saw no 'escape in case of emmergency clause', so said no.... The 6th Empire is looking wobbly at the mo.

Sorry for off topic, felt it needed to be said somewhere

I hope this isn't TOO off-topic.....
I have lived most of my life in the US.I grew up with the sounds of aircraft constantly ringing in my ears.Weekends were akin to an inpromtu airshow. It amazes me that the only AC I hear or see in Europe are commercial jobs and a smattering of bizjets.

And that first post doesn't even touch on the mind boggling numbers of guns, trucks, ships, armored vehicles and of course Infantrymen that were involved all over the world.

I admire your typing skills. That was an awsome summation at the least. Bravo!
