mod list
« on: July 06, 2011, 04:50:51 AM »

Is there a mod list of available mods that can be used in DBW and if so, are there instructions on how to place them and where to get them? I know about old mods which I saved but not sure if they will work.

WHat Crazy sais is right. Athough I have been thinking of opening an "approved for DBW" list, or sticker in threads. Especialy for some of the more esoteric planes and mods that I realy cannot put in the DBW base pack, as they will not be to everyone's liking, or are restrictive in other ways, like total amounts of planes, ect. FOr example, while I may but 1 or 2 PBJ's in DBW, I wont but 6 new slots in, because that is potentialy 4 new slots less that some users can use. So I leave that to the users themselves. Also with mods like some customization mods, that are taste dependant, I am wary of simply including them.

Perhaps just then, I will make a sticky, where only the DBW team can post in, of mods that are "approved and working, and not being considdered for future inclusion right now, but which the user can choose to install himself".

The reason I would not let normal modders and members add to this list is because of the disaster that was the "4.101 comaptibilit list" which I think is still up somewhere. Every tom dick and harry that got the game to start up with some mod reported it as compatible, even though some of those broke functions and paths in the game that had terrible consiquences down the line.

But yes, in conclusion, some sort of list like that will be usefull, and will eventualy be started.

Maybe compatiblilty is the wrong term, considering past attempts of community notification of yes or no being anything but yes or no, something else might convey the needs of playtesting, try-to-make-it-glitch, un-crashability etc tasks/hours of fun - stunting, crashing, shooting, operating all controls, checking the break up of A/C, class conflicts, perculiar systems effects and all others required for a yes or no answer.
