Hi All,

I've just joined SAS recently. Sas's buttons and sound mod are fantastic! I use this in conjunction with an AAA 4.09 b version.

I noticed some people are working on rice paddie textures.

They look awesome!

One thing comes to mind though, I live in Thailand and some times you see ploughed paddies a darkish gray colour not much water at all, rice that has already been cut and rice round piles a dry tan, light brown colour, newly planted rice rows of green in water and rice which has been growing for some time a thick green field all in the same area.

INDOCHINA STARTER MAP PACK

I previously made 4 maps of Indochina all 1:1 scale.

1) North Vietnam/ China/ Hah Nan Island
2) South Vietnam
3) Laos and North Vietnam
4) Cambodia and South Vietnam.


With the starter maps you'll have to use Kevin P's tutorial from Upon a successful loading of the map in order to save missions on these maps.Then move on to his texturing tutorial.

Mission Bug has already attempted South Vietnam. Please check in the WIP Maps section in AAA for that thread.



I will also post up a  CHINA PLAN MAP PACK  as of 1941 a little later on. I'll place a new thread for that one.

These start up map packs are my contribution to SAS.

They are very basic maps 1 lan texture 1 water texture only. Enjoy tinkering with them.

Thanks for the maps Kirby. I cant wait to get my new graphics card to really be able to see these the way you meant them. I was working on rice patties for a bit, they were pretty frustraiting. I think Malone was going to work with themfor a bit, I'll have to ask him. Thanks for the info on them. Maybe after I get my new card I'll try agian if Malones not working on them for something. Glad you registered here. MissionBug had mentioned you were working on a north Vietnam map.

Yep, looks good, Kirby, I'll definitely fiddle with them a bit. 
As Bombs said, welcome to the site, and hope to see more of you here! 
A Bombs, I've had a look at the textures, but not really spent much time with them yet.
I've been focussing on learning a bit more about class files, and it's on a way different 'wavelength' from the maps..
Honestly only think I'll get around to them this weekend, but don't let me hold you back, mate!
Even if we both end up working on the same textures, it'll be interesting to see the different results we get.
