Hi Monty27 ;
 I downloaded and 7zip to desktop to find a read me file and that put about 130 files onto desktop ,takes awhile to delete all of them . Said if you have DBW1.1 with SAS FBDSM "PUT" this campaign into the mission/campaign/GB folder .  What does "PUT" mean as it is most of the time 7zip into IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 or copy and paste into mission/campaign/GB plus copy and paste shins into skins folder so how do I install this campaign ?  I have DBW bid 1.2 and it will be DBW bid 1.3 this week so what do we do about these installs ?  Sorry to be a sore spot in your day !  thanks loads for your help  flyby1

Hi flyby1

I think the DBW builds are cumulative, so campaigns for an earlier version should work just as well in a later version.  Of course we can all actually test this too.  I will keep it up to date (downloading 1.2 now) and patch the campaign for a later version if necessary or if we want to add more stuff to it, no worries!

Its probably not a good idea to unzip anything straight to your desktop in most cases.  Instead, why not create a folder in some out of the way corner of your drive and unzip into that for a rummage around?  Then if it all goes pear-shaped, you can chuck the folder away in one go.

If you look at the zip structure it has folders that go Missions/Campaign/GB/1940_The_Siege_of_Malta or Missions/Single/GB/1940_The_Siege_of_Malta and one for the skins.  Its in the same structure as you find in ANY install of DBW or Il2 or 1946 or whatever you call it, so anyone can see where to PUT the new folders in the right places.  That I what I mean by PUT!

There's no readme, just a three page illustrated PDF with these explanations plus campaign notes plus the Order of Battle and Historic notes from the research.  Plus my support here of course, its always great to here from you all.

Hope you can get it going Flyby.

Hi Monty27 ;
 I found out what was my trouble and how to fix it . The 7zip would not give me one main flolder  when it unziped , but it gave me over 130 folders as it was giving me all the folders in your download as seperate folders . I had to delete the 7zip and redownload and install it  . So now all is well !  Thanks very much for your help !!  flyby1

THX for this campaign, Monty27, the only thing that worries me is the 3 SeaGladiator skins from the unknown skinner, because they are identical except for their markings, so I made a search in my skin folder and found those magnificient different ones from Kristorf, dated 2006, and much more historical I presume ...

Here is a link for those who would like to give them a try :

Monty, you are doing a very nice job on your campaigns. BoB and Malta are my favorite theaters of operation. Thank you very much

These are tasty, thanks!  If users rename these skins to simply Faith, Hope and Charity and put them into - ...Paintschemes/Skins/SeaGladiatorMkII -  they will replace the earlier skins for use in the missions.

Alternatively, as I found a spello anyway, I have corrected that, replaced the skins and credited Kristorf in the pdf.  So all subsequent downloads will be a little more polished.  Cheers Mick!

Thanks Korrigan

I've been writing and playing my own campaigns for years, but only now has DBW tidied up my various installs and given us a common platform to share these ideas.  So all credit to CirX and the rest of you guys really.

I have plenty more more in the toybox if you want it...
