How to Expand Ground Object Viewing Radius?
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:20:56 AM »

Given all the killer ground objects seen in DBW, I have found that as I climb above, say an airbase, most of the stuff (mainly the buildings/trees) begin to vanish.  I assume this is likely a config setting tied to performance control, but I am wondering if there is a config value to play with to allow further distance before objects begin to vanish (like a visual radius expansion), or if there is a way to make them "gradually" vanish.  I saw some plane tents begin to flash as I climbed and then fully vanish with distance.  Its not a big deal, but was wondering for tweaking since I have a relatively powerful machine, and would like to max the visuals as much as possible.

AFAIR tere is a setting in conf.ini called VisibilityDistance which is responsible for objects vieweing/distance.

You can play with it if you want. I think the max value is '3' but would be keen to know how (if) this can be tweaked as well.
