Awesome campaings Monty27, i'm flying the siege of Malta in DBW and I'm impressed with the work you have done. Great fidelity with historic events, and great ambientation too.

Please, make more like this, we love it!

A very big thanks to you, and sorry for my bad english  :D

Thanks for the heads up pierre1946.  Once I have updated to DBW 1.5 I will re-test all of the missions featuring 'Class air.HE_111H6' - Namely:

Hurri16.mis
Spit03.mis
Spit10.mis
SpitIb13.mis
SpitIb14.mis
SpitIb15.mis
SpitIb16.mis
SpitIb17.mis

If it is a loadout issue with the new buttons then I will issue a patch asap.

Thanks to everyone for playing the hell out of these campaigns and posting these interesting observations and reports.

Viva DBW!

Hi Monty - just a quick error thingy report...

Im up to mission 28 in the BoB... The one after you intercept the JU88s over the Thames in the evening... It is all fantastic so far - I love that the fall of France was included too.

However, when clicking the fly button on mission 29, IL-2 kindly informs me that my rank of Flight Lt. isn't high enough to fly position 2 in the flight... It then makes all flights AI control and I cant launch the mission...

I'm guessing this means I should go back to the start and select a higher rank to begin with?? Or is there some quick fix that means I dont have to play through the first 28 missions again??

Do you have the MissionProCombo switched on? Switch it off and try again...

Hey pierre1946 - the fix worked. I guess the MissionProCombo stops the campaign from working correctly. Many thanks.

Monty, why did you use Radio Honolulu instead of BBC for Battle of Britain Campaign? In mission 3, when I set beacons for radio I was like 'WTF?!' when I heard the music :P

Anyways, great campaign. I wonder when did you have time to create 55 mission campaigns... It's enough for months of playing.

EDIT: It seems that it was wrong only in mission 3, so no problem at all

Monty, great job.
Up to mission #17 in the Siege of Malta - 17 kills and 5 crash landings so far! Excellent campaign, great fun to fly, but boy the invulnerable SM79's are a bit of a challenge.

Hello there,

I feel kind of stupid asking this, but how do you get past the first mission in the Bob campaign? I fly around & land at the place i took off from, but when i quit the mission, all i get is a refly option...  :-[

Well it's been a good couple weeks.  I'm new here.  I took my old IL2 1946 I haven't touched in years, and added DBW, and then found this completely awesome campaign set.  I feel like I've stolen something, and still can't believe what's been done with this sim in my absence.  For free, no less!  I think I can hold out for the new BOB release by Maddox, this ones going to keep me busy enough for a bit.  Thanks a lot for this gem.  Once small thing I noticed in the Malta campaign.  The default a/c for the first few (not finished yet, I'm savoring it) missions is the navalized version of the Gladiator II.  It's got the hook and the extra belly tank, and the skins leave those areas unpainted; they end up sort of a robins egg blue on the frame of the Sea Gladiator.  I used plain old text editor to replace all instances of Class air.SEAGLADIATOR2 to Class air.GLADIATOR2 in all the .mis files, as well as copying the 3 skins into the skin folder for GLADIATOR2.  Now the "extras" are gone, and the skin fits nice and tight.

I had to check history, and turns out that all the images and documentation I could stir up says that they were indeed Sea Gladiator Mk I's defending Malta in the early days,  BUT...no images I could find of Sea Gladiator Mk I's had arrester gear or belly tanks.  They only seemed to be on the II's, so I hope you don't mind me messing with it.  The Gladiator II and the Sea Gladiator I really do look the same, and it made it look prettier.  While looking into this stuff, I couldn't help but notice the accuracy of many aspects of your campaign, excellent job, thanks for your effort!

Make sure that you turn off the "no instant success" option (Light should be OFF) in the difficulty settings
