NOTE: SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING FBDSM SFS FILES FOR USERS OF ULTRAPACK 3 and/or DARK-BLUE-WORLD: You dont have to add lines to your .rc file, just copy the SFS files from this mod, into your main game folder, replacing the placeholders already there.

New Theater Camo Settings in UP3/DBW:

FBDSM fully accomodates the new theater settings in UP3. What is that? Well, you may have noticed that some planes have both a SUMMER and a WINTER default skin. Some also have a DESERT skin. And if you go flying on a map that is marked SUMMER, or WINTER or DESERT in it's load ini, then that skin will automatically be selected, if the plane has it. Crazyflak had the idea last year to expand this, to make more theaters, and thus more opportunity for making more immersive default skins. The feature appeared in the code of 4.101. All that was needed to make it work, was to re-mark the maps to use such settings, and to make some default skins for it.

The new theaters are: SUMMER (Default), WINTER, DESERT (NorthAfrica Only) , MTO (Italy, Sicily, MED ect) , ETO(Western Europe) , CBI (China, Burma, India, Singapore ect), and PACIFIC (Pacific, Japan, Australia, and Spain)

To get the most out of these skinpacks, you will need UP3, or Dark Blue World

Highlights of FBDSM part 10:

This part replaces ALL the default skins for the following plane families:
A20's, S199, FW189, FW190A/F/G, Ar-234, D3A (Val), Sentinels, Texans and T6 variants. It also completes the series of Me262 skin replacements and B24 Skin replacements, with the addition of the D model which will be in DBW 1.4 .

Also it  fixes some previous errors in some Beaufighter RAF skins and a B17 error. It also adds or improves a whole lot of SCW skins for various planes and hacks, and a long awaited summer skin replacement for all DB-3 bombers.

Here is a complete list of default skins that were added, replaced or fixed, in FBDSM part 10:

This is definitely one of the greatest contributions to the IL2 community (in the like of Boomer's objects packs); Great taste in skin selection, and I have to say, I was amazed to realize that choice of theatre affects the skins for stationary aircraft also! I flew a SCW mission days ago, and on my way back to the airfield, I noticed that the SB100's were carrying republican camo! Great job, Cirx, Crazy, and everyone involved!!!!! 8)

very impressive thanks a lot!!

one question, regarding the new pacific, ETO and so on...
i noticed that with other Skinod pack, now over desert maps I happen to see all pacific skins (annoying in the same way as back then the desert skins over the pacific)
I noted especially P-40s, Hurricanes and Blenheims in SEA color.

is there an update in the works for that or do I have an old version?!?

i have a few issues... ahem...
the 109t skin is actually for a F/G 109 (radiator, tail, others)
The seafire Mk III skin is for a IX or VIII (radiator , Tailhook, exhaust, others...)

:))

ok, i´ll take me hat... dont kill me!

Do not use FBDSM with any other default skinpack, there are NO other skinpacks that are taylored for 4.101, or for UP3/DBW , and there certainly are none that are as comprehensive as this. Using any older skinpack with FBDSM will lessen it. Not to mention that some 409 skins map incorrectly on 4.101 planes.

The only two default skin packs from the past that comes anywhere near this is the one I made for 409, which is now obviously completely and utterly replaced and obsolete, and the ones by VP Media, also for 4.09, the best of which are updated and already in FBDSM, and the rest of which VP himself helps with for FBDSM.

there is no 109T skin in FBDSM yet, but thanks for the headsup.
And we know about the seafire hook issue. We will sort it eventualy.

Thank You Crazyflak!
Yes, I have this plane in my other version of the game, but I thought that I miss something in current version of the DBW.
Good do see that Liberator in next update. Cheers.

thats not what I meant of course.
I mean, with using your FBDSM skinmods 1-9, I have SEA colored Blenheim, P-40... over deserts.
the question is, are these already adressed to the new schem system or not?
if so, it's maybe okay to see a green/brown P-40.... dunno.

the P40s have not realy been dealt with properly yet. We put some skins just to tie us over. The blenheims have. What you may be seeing is MTO camo, which is correct for MTO, and is sometimes different from Desert. CBI camo schemes will almost always have a CBI (SEAC) tailflash on (dark and light blue), while MTO will not.
