Screenshot problem.
« on: August 10, 2011, 11:31:01 AM »

Hello Again.
When I'm trying to make the screenshot - there appears error message that "memory can't be <read>.", and then - game crashes.

Is it possible that following mods causes such problem (I've installed them by myself on DBW):

1. Gunfire effects.
2. Ranwers' B-26.
3. T-33 Shooting Star.
 ::)

Thank You.

I cannot get the screenshot to work at all in DBW install but I guess it is my own stupidity that does this

OK, I've found the reason.
And te reason  name is "Marauder".

Unfortunatelly - this beautiful plane made by Master Ranwers - causes above conflict.
Please mind that fact before install. It will be not possible to make screenshots then.
:(

So damn pity - one of my fav. planes ....

You can use screenshot software... I just use Fraps instead.

Just tested all my installs - Marauder is innocent, screenshots are readily obtainable by pressing PrintScreen, in: HSFX41, HSFX5, UP3 RC4, DBW build 1.2. In the last one, screenshots are stored in newly introduced folder MyScreenShots, in the main game folder.

Hm....I'm confused now....
When I "deactivate" Marauder - everything is working properly, I mean - no problems with making screenshots.
When B-26 is "active" - each time when push PrtSc key- game crashes immediately!

PS. For making screenies- I'm using FS Screen software.

You've probably reached memory-limits of your game.

Hi There Crazyflak

So - when I remove any mod - will be possible to make prtscrns again?

It looks that better is to wait for official update of DBW....

I can take screenshots in a complex mission in unmodified DBW without issues, so DBW seems to be OK. However, current DBW is pretty close to the Java memory limit and maybe in some extreme case with some set of JSGME options enabled it may crash because of that limit.

However, taking screenshot is an effective trick to crash IL-2 that is too close to Java memory limit after adding some new planes or other mods. Thus, if you can't take screenshots anymore in DBW, disabling or removing some mods you have added should help. There may be some compatibility issues with gear damage mod or other mods causing screenshot crash, but it may also be just the amount of classfiles you have added in your #DBW folder causing you to run into the Java memory limit.
