DCG Midway 1942 V1.3

Hi,
To the Aleutians campaign must also be made a Midway campaign!

Campaign have been tested offline with IL2 1946 V4.09m / UP 2.01/HSFX 4.1 and DCG V3.46

The campaign includes an unofficial patch for the expanded Midway map for UP 2.01/HSFX 4.1!   (permission by author "dunkelgrun")

I made mainly changes for the IJN career:

1. You begin the campaign now a day before (3.June) and the japanese Task force starts in the blue sector (not red as before)!
2. Reworked Task force routes for the japanese side and road traffic on Midway!
3. DCG should spawn now for the japanese attack on Midway static aircrafts!
4. Due to balancing, I removed one USMC fighter squadron in all careers!
5. Changed anti-ship payload for the B-17E!
6. After some more testing, recommended "Action radius setting" is "175KM" for all careers!

Here again some changes to this campaign and should be the last:

1. Reworked routes for the japanese transport groups at the beginning, so that they are more close together and have better Flak cover for each other!
2. Changed some Destroyer types for all japanese fleets to have more long distance Flak power!
3. Reduced number of planes for the B-17E squadron (12) and bomb load for the SBDs (500lbs) due to campaign balance!
4. Changed anti ship payload for the PBYs from Torpedos to Bombs! (Dont know if its only in my game but the PBYs didnt attack ships with Torpedos!)
5. Made some changes to the "Collection of aces" file!

Nice campaign, and it works in DBW!  I have flown a few missions as a US Navy fighter and once day three hits, the IJN arrives! 

Quick question:  Is there a way to see the campaign status in one of the related DCG text files?  For example, how would I know that a carrier was sunk during a mission other than the debrief? 

Also, a great "fix" for DCG would be to allow "Apply" for a player death rather than only a "Refly" option.  Basically, if a user chooses to reset his stats upon death, then a "transfer message" for the reincarnated pilot to the squad would be cool, or something similar to allow the timeline to continue without a "groundhog day" Refly only option.  Though perhaps this is something specific to DCG and not at the control of the campaign builders?

Hi,
No, not during a mission! You must know, that events that happened during a mission, like ships were sunk, will processed by DCG after you end the mission!
Only then is written the complete eventlog file! You can see which shpis were sunk also in the "Ground Objects Editor" of DCG after a mission!

Small tip:
You can even simulate on this DCG page, if badly damaged ships should appear in the next Missions or to be as sunk!
You have to select only the particular ship, enter under Column Name instead of the ship name "sunk" and under Location "blank"! But do not forget for carriers, to delete or move the stationed squadron to another airfield/carrier!
Then close DCG and back to IL-2 and klick in the Debriefing page "Apply"! The particular ship is now considered as sunk in the campaign!
NOTE: Make this only in the Debriefing page of IL-2 after you end a mission, then switch to Desktop and open DCG!!!

If you want to fly the 4.09m Version of the B-26B V2.2 in the campaign, then put the below lines in the timetable.dcg!
It should prevent that mainly the AI B-26B crash into the sea during take off!

Which is the difference between 42N, 42M and 42J subcampaigns? I have checked timetables and I cant see any difference in dates.
Hi,
The main differences between the three campaigns are in the process, when certain ships should spawn! Also I've tried, that at least one Mission for each career is available, where you can earn an advantage over the other party at the beginning!
For the japanese career is this the attack on Midway and for the americans the attack on the japanese transport group!
If I would spawn all ships for all sides at the beginning, then DCG would only create missions against the carriers of each party and that would be a bit boring!
Moreover, I can choose any side, Marines, Navy, IJN in all them.

First I must say, all my campaigns I've done so far are designed that you uses the DGen files!
Let's say you would not use them and start a IJN career for the Midway42N over the "Run" option! Then you would have in the first days of the campaign, for example, no japanese aircraft carrier available and you must start from an offmap airfield (Saipan)!

Well... We want to fly your campaign online in coop mode with several pilots in same side. We ever fly so our DCG campaigns. Are you saying we shouldn't do it with Midway 1942 because glitches as Japanese without carriers at the beginning???

Could you, then, recommend us one of the three and what side to play online in coop mode?

I have never played online! :-X

One question more: What about players joining without B-26 mod installed? Will they be able to play? Is necessary all ppl install B-26 mod? Surely I will be able to change plane for that Squadron to any other bomber before generate first mission, isnt't it?

I can not really say! However, I suspect that there will be problems!
Better all with the B-26 or without, I think!

If you change the plane for that squadron, then better delete these lines or rename the aircraft class name:
