ok, i've been struggling a while with this, and i'm pretty sure i've overlooked something obvious, but i don't know what.  ::)
i have a perfectly good DBW 1.6 install, and i can choose DBW or DBW 1916 options with the selector, all works fine.
now, i want to make use of the Stock Mod and Modact 3 options in the selector.
I have a working Modact 3 game, and so am thinking all i need to do is copy the #SAS folder into the DBW game, select SAS Modact 3 game and i should be good to go.
but this leaves me hanging at 95% loading, which indicates to me a missing SFS file somewhere?
i don't know which files i might be missing, or what obvious thing i have overlooked.
i have the same issue trying the Stock Mods version, which also hangs at 95%
for this version, i imported the Mods and Files folders from an older working Modact game, 2.7.
how many errors can you find in my logic so far...?  ;D 8)

I assume the #SAS folder contained the usual MapMods, STD and XTD folders. If so the one thing that you havent mentioned is the SAS_SFS folder. My #SAS .rc file requires it while #DBW .rc file doesn't. Just a thought....

yes, it has all the necessary files and folders and i have the SAS_SFS folder, as well.
there must be something obvious i'm missing.
i'll post a few screens of my folders soon, my connection is just too slow right now...

I have the dbw1.6/dbw1916/up3rc4/sas
They all work when I select them plus they are in there own folders. Could mixing them be the cause of the problem

i haven't mixed any of them. they each have their own folders, although i haven't made a #UP folder yet, i have #DBW, #DBW 1916, #SAS and MODS folders.
the #SAS and MODS folder are from other working installs - but with only a very small amount of mods, no planes or classfiles.
Yet i can only load the two #DBW versions. the #SAS (Modact 3) and MODS (Stock Mods) versions both hang at 95%...

I just tried the other options (I have totally concentrated on DBW and have a separate SAS ModAct 3.6 install), the "SAS Mod Act" option and the "Stock game" option work fine; the "classic mod game" loads SAS Mod Act 2.71 and then crashes (but who cares :D). I have installed 4 plane mods in my DBW folder, nothing else...

yeah, what i'm wanting to do is incorporate my Modact 306 install into the DBW one, but it's not wanting to co-operate.
i'm not overly concerned about the 'Stock Mods' option, although it would be nice to be able to run each of these versions via the selector, in one install.

Here is how I did it and all versions work.
clean 407 to 408 to 409 to 410 to 410.1m then the sas and all the patches checked after each install. Then added the up3rc1/2/3/4 tested then added dbw 1 thru 6 tested all worked fine then from the modded 410.1m brought over the mod section dropped in and on the selector switch picked modded game choice comes up and works like always.
Now on the memory part I picked 1 gig.
I am not sure on what I did right

Now at times I have wanted to interface the puter with my English double in the 600 caliber nitro express

The Modact 3 installation needs some additional SFS files which aren't part of UP/DBW, namely:
sas_basic_30
sas_sound 01 & 02
sasup_decals 01 & 02
(sasup_decals_01.sfs ships with UP3 RC4 patch, so if you happen to have installed RC4, you already have this file, nevertheless it's the same file like in Modact 3).

You can get them from your modact 3 archive, just add them to the existing sfs files in your game folder, they do no harm (since they won't get loaded by anything else but SAS Modact 3 anyway).

Best regards - Mike

i knew it was something quite obvious i'd missed.... :P
after reading your info, i quintuple-checked everything again, and lo and behold, i was missing one of the sas_sound.sfs files....
just needed a bit of prodding to wake up, i guess.... :D
