QMB Blank Screen
« on: October 06, 2011, 12:17:43 AM »

By accident or whatever, I clicked on the multiplayer icon in DBW and got to the multiplayer game. However after exiting this mode, instead of seeing a list of all the options to start a game - QMB - Full Game ...etc, I get a blank background screen. Just plain blank, no icons or text or anything on it.

So I need to use alt+ctrl+delete to exit the game ...

After rebooting, I get the normal menu screen, but when I then click on QMB, once again I get a blank menu screen and have to exit by alt+ctrl+delete ...

Apparently I can use the FMB menu, load a game or a map, but click on QMB and things just disappear.

Very unsettling this and I haven't a bloody clue what to do about it ... any suggestions on how to go about fixing this without a reinstall?

And I can't even make a screenshot of this, since when I try the game crashes ...

How amny mods do you have in your DBW?
Maybe you are at the memory limit barrier

It's not the number of mods ... since the game worked fine before accidentally clicking on the multiplayer icon ... it happened right afterwards ... darndest thing ... and the FMB game works in order, but not QMB ... click on the QMB icon and the whole screen goes to the background only ...

Just tried the same thing, no issue.
Are you using Mission Pro Combo?
Try disabling it

Never thought of disabling that since it had worked fine before I accidentally clicked the Multiplayer button.

However, you are right - by disabling MissionPro Combo the problem is solved. So many many thanks for the tip.

I shall either have to learn to live without it installed - which is a bit of a shame it being a very handy mod - or it will be back to doing a full re-install again, and then learning to watch out what I click on ...

In any case, thanks again ...

I have Mission Pro Combo activated in DBW 1.6 and I cliked the Multiplayer button too but without issie.
So it's very strange.
Enable it again, if you are a lucky man you will never have that issue

You are right again. I deactivated it in the #DBW folder and also noticed that it was activated by jsmge as well. Started the game and quit. Then I reactivated MissionProCombo and all works fine again.

Weird stuff, but since it's fixed now, all is well with the world again. I will hopefully remember what went wrong and try to avoid it in the future.

And I will remember your thoughtful help as well, many thanks. I never would have thought of the solution on my own.
