Hello, I generally don't like to make a mess of my installation with lots of individual mods, so if DB 1.7 is around the bend, then I will refrain from doing so.

If not, then I think I'm going to go ahead and add some new planes like the P-61 and B-26.

So what do you say? Shall I go crazy with my air.ini or have a bit of patience?

Cheers.

If you are going to go crazy, definitely get the Clean DBW JGME Mod Packs.  The Aircraft pack contains the B26 along with some other planes and additional goodies.  If you want to add more mods, you can keep your vanilla DBW 1.6 intact and rather mod away within the packs.  If you screw something up, simply disable the jgme mod pack and vanilla DBW is restored.  Of course when time to update to 1.7, simply disable all the packs and you will be good to go!  They work well to maintain a clean separation, especially for the ini files.

Hey guys,

We all apologize for the lack of news regarding DBW. To put it in perspective, the UP team have been AWOL for a while whilst CirX has been flat out with work, Storebror the same and I've only just got back home after being overseas for about a month. A group of us have been discussing some ideas regarding the future of DBW and whilst it will include announced changes such as the slot merging/reduction, there will be a few other changes to how it works. All of which will be aimed at making it more moddable and stable.

Won't be much news for a week or two due to the silly season, but hopefully we can see DBW 1.7 surface in the new year.

I'm hearing or seeing conflicting posts. Is DBW 1.7 out or is it being tested? And if it is out, where can I find it? I see this post " DBW 1.7 one last attempt" . That tells me that somewhere over the holiday, i may have missed something. I watch these forums religiously , especially anything DBW. So please let me know so I can be more at ease hehe. Thanks.

We won't be waiting for UP3 final anymore. We are currently waiting to see when 4.11 will be out. If we can make DBW compatible with ease, we will switch over to the new patch. Otherwise we will fast-track it and release for 4.101 once some new content is added and tested.

I hope that the final result could be a convergence of efforts in the spirit of a modding friendly development from official TD developers and free modders , because if all we really love IL2 this is the only target all modding teams should have in mind to make it's good!

:P It is not as easy as that. There are some members who simply don't get along and never will. BUT it is our hope that if 4.11m proves to be a strong base, we can finally move at least the SAS and UP community onto one game version (instead of supporting two or more as well do now e.g. 4.09m and 4.101m)
