Giant Bomber Screenshot Artwork
« on: December 14, 2011, 10:09:14 PM »

Things I like: Ace Combat, IL-2:1946, and Death Metal album artwork

So I put it all that I love together in one picture, like the title says, it's a picture of a massive bomber being escorted by a bunch of fighters. I just want to know what you guys think; does it feel like a giant bomber or seem like a photoshop screwup? anything that I can change to make it feel better?

crikey, what size is the pic?   ???
i'm still waiting for it to load after 5 minutes....can you put up a smaller version, perhaps a thumbnail option or such?
please keep our posting guides in mind when it comes to uploading big pictures, there are many with slower bandwidth for whom this size might never load....
or maybe Gerax is using all the bandwdth meant for my country, lol.... :D

edit: ok, soon as i finished typing it finally loaded....very cool, has a nice moody feel to it.. ;)

I really like the picture overall. a little advice though: to make the bomber look more like a bomber(say Ho-19), i dould sugest to use the clone tool and ad 2 more air intakes for engines on each side...

...2 minutes later...

ok, i took the liberty of editing your picture for better illustrating what i ment. i would also ad 6 black smoke trails on the back, but since im at work now i dont have the time.
what do you think:

trailing edge of the delta i can still see straight lines like polygones.
better with 6 jets and no 30mm cannons. but adjust red paint area
under left wing, safety area/bomb hangar is in the way of the outermost jet engine. (?)
four plane formations look too exact, compypasted, sligt moovement needed, and smoke effects...

the basic image looks scary, like WWIII or the end of all times.
scary...

can you tell me how exactly you did that with the engines? so I can that myself and be able to work with the picture with the layers still seperated and add smoke like you say

well its pretty easy, as i said before use the clone tool. u ned a little bit of a steady hand when positioning the source of the clone and then applying the clone on the wing. i dont know if im  making any sense, its a bit hard to explain it without any pictures. i would advice to just fool around with the clone tool in photoshop a little. soon enough you will learn how it works and what a powerfull tool that is. remember alt+click for the source and click and move to apply.
for the smoke i would advice to make a new layer and just mess with the brushes, just find the one that resembles more like smoke.
thats it mate, good luck!
