From Kapteeni and myself for members and visitors during this Christmas season. Here is a link for the finished set of 3 maps of Lapland. Summer, autumn and winter. The winter map has a different map_c than the other two. It's up to you to find out in what way. We've already posted screenshots in another post:

But to recapitulate, here is the fmb map, to give you an idea of the area involved. The map is mainly a landscape map, meaning there are few objects and few roads ... few of anything except maybe trees.

Also note this map is made for 4.101 with UP3.0 or DBW ... if you are still a 4.09 user, then you may have to install a few objects.

Made the map with the UP3.0 objects and DBW ... I didn't add anything outside of the standard objects included in DBW

you should be able to find the objects somewhere. I can't recall just what pre-UP3/DBW pack they come from ... maybe someone can recall

Stunning map. Only problem with the autumn version though. Won't load initially, then it loads but I get this (I include a winter pic for compensation!)

version which indicates a texture is not available:

Tex/Trees/AutumnBush_LATL.tga.

This texture doesn't appear to be in the download so should it be part of DBW?

hmmm ... some have this problem on the autumn map, some don't ... at least kapteeni loaded fine with the same upload.

In any case, it can be fixed, or quick fixed.

in load_Aut.ini, take this line:

  Tree0 = Trees/AutumnBush_LA.tga  //dlv_aut_AlteredBush8a.tga 

and change it into

  Tree0 = ag/Lapland/AlteredBush8aTL.tga

That should get it up and running. I will however need to check if this gives the best color of pop-up trees for autumn.

Also a tip, the maps look best in hazy or poor weather. Lots of clouds also help, with the big cloud mod set starting at 2000m ... but of course, everyone has their own preferences

And btw - nice skin for a Finnish IAR ... I thought I had them all ... ha ha

The skin is a hack for the VL Myrsky, someone made a request for it at M4T some time ago for a campaign but it never came about.  The skin is still WIP, Tom (Craken) remminded me of it in an e.mail tonight.

OK ... there shouldn't be TL+TL at the end of the file name. But the pop-up trees come in pairs of 3's and the second and third set of the pair are not mentioned in a load.ini 

I think I shall upload a new autumn version. But give me till tomorrow so I can sort it out carefully.

Yes, thanks for a new superb map ! Here too, Autumn map does not load. But the 2 other do without problem.
