Another Spielberg film, I really want to see it! Looks like an excellent and well written story with some historical action aswell.

I believe it's an adaptation of the play, which did very, very well. I'd want to see the play before I watch the film though.

This is just my personal opinion, but having seen it and also having gone into it with the mindset of
A. It's a Spielberg film therefore its gonna be friggin sweet
&
B. It has war in the title, which means there will most likely be some big battle scenes with said horse running running the gauntlet of the WWI Trenches..

All i can was that i enjoyed the popcorn more than i did the movie. If you've even seen the movie black beauty, it's almost exactly the same premise as that. Only about 10 minutes of anything to do w/ WWI.

Perhaps a good date movie or one for the older kids who like horses, but other than that, i'd say save your money and rent it when it comes out. I was sadly disappoined in this as i was really hoping for more war-horseness, not black beauty gets drafted. I did enjoy the 15 secs where they showed a tank though.

Lol, I am an 'older kid', and I really like horses  :D but I HATE those kind of movies  >:( Got nothing but really nothing to do with reality...I'm just LMFAO when my sister is watching those Black Beauty etc films...dunno how to say it in English, but in german it is 'kitschig'  ;)

So no, not a movie for me...

Hmm- looks like a real 'tear jerker'. Im guessing it will go something like this: Man (or boy) meets horse, falls in love, horse is taken away from him and sent to war- next owner, British officer, killed by german guns- horse then falls into german hands- eventually horse escapes and gets back to boy who has now joined up and is a soldier- all wonderful and happy then horse is killed saving boy.

Not my scene, but Im sure it will look amazing- Speilberg as we know does totally epic battle scenes. But as Milantarik says, Im sure it will have little to do with the reality of the carnage that was WWI...... ::)

They will try to sell us(because it works so well) anything that has WWxx in it.  Just for good measure they put in a CG airplane or tank...  What is so pathetic is I often fall for it.   Where are the Wolfgang Petersons....

I live about 5 miles away from where it was made on Dartmoor National Park in sunny Devon, UK.

Dartmoor is awash with wild ponies, they had to move them away during filming to stop them "joining in" during the battles. Sadly the farmers round them up every year and sell them to the French, who eat them ... Who'd be a horse !!

Looking forward to the film, when it gets to us in the far west, that's the far west UK, not the far west Cowboys style.

Is it like Seabuscit? It looks good. There are not enough WW1 movies. The best one is all quiet on the western front. As long as it has at least 2 WW1 battle sceans i might like it. ( im a big horse rider, english, western, jump, hunter ect.)

I'm not a Horse guy, and actually liked Seabuscit. It wasn't about the horse, but about the woman's determination (also happened not far from where I live)..... Warhorse on the other hand was kind of odd. The kit seemed queer for the horse... I wouldn't recommend it.
