Really incredible, by far the best effects i've ever seen, especially the new damage somkes!

please Hg & potenz could you give some explain about differences in effects from platinum edition? I've installed but i can't see any difference  :( :( thank you for your attention

Hi Goblin  :)

More tuned and added effects are:

1. Aircraft crash ground explosion/Bomb250/500 fireball mushroom which is now without sudden cut but will now dissipate more slowly and naturally looking .
( there is really no game original support for slower explosion fireball with aircraft ground crash , 250&500lb bomb explosion but it was achieved by switching files entries and new configuration between burn and peaces effects files )  ;D

2. All caliber bullets water hit splash have been increased in size to reflect WWII archival footage .

3. Ground moving or static bullets hit objects flash have been increased in size from aircraft guns to a bit bigger average flash size to reflect WWII archival footage

4. New 1000lb bomb explosion effect with also more slowly dissipating fireball effect

5. Bigger ingame battleships have no longer front rotating water puff but it's now more natural looking wave .

6. 10kg bomb ground explosion and water splash was tuned a bit

7. Aircraft stall smoke was tuned a bit

8. RS82 ground explosion and water splash was reconfigured

9. Aircraft dust take off class effect is now calling for particles class file rather than spiral class file processing because during jet aircraft take off , two different smokes class files
will start flickering when mixed together with dust smoke and jet engine smoke at full power .
Now both effects files are using the same particles class file smoke processing and no more
testure flickering .

10. 303 and 0.50 caliber bullets hit flash on the enemy plane have been increased in size
and each bullet hit now change shape of flash impact to reflect WWII archival footage .
Previously each bullet hit on the enemy plane was the same looking texture flash shape constantly one after another .

Brand new effects are:

1. Jet engine smoke at full power was separated from prop aircrafts damage smoke

2. Aircrafts new damage smoke design and interaction to reflect archival footage for fire with little or no smoke which happened most of the time in reality .
Still all options remains as you can get aircraft on fire with very little smoke or also
black thick long stream smoke , it all depends where is the damage , which plane etc..
it's the game engine assigning smokes shape and size interaction but it is giving now much more visual interaction for newly created smokes design .

It's me , Potenz , Wolfighter , SAS and members , all IL-2 1946 enthusiasts that hepled with new mod  ;)
Platinum mod is now obsolete , yes , get rid of that sucker and put a new Uranium mod in to your main game MODS folder .
Just make sure game read Uranium mod as first one in your main game MODS folder .
No more Platinum .

thank you , take a leap of faith with a parachute strapped to your back.  ;D

Had no time to test it yet, so I ask. Is the ejected shell fire effect when firing the Hs-129's big cannon solved ?

the only thing is that there might be a conflict between this mod and the "AAA_PAT_airshow and camera" mod (or whatever its called) that causes my game to crash when i turn on the airshow smoke :-\  http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10638&highlight=smoke+mod

maybe you can do an even better airshow smoke, thats a bit more  FPS friendly but plz i liked the clolor changing ability of that mod very much, so if you do it plz include that ;D

oh , never ending "AAA_PAT_airshow and camera" mod coflicts and crashes and other issues .
There are a lot of posts over at AAA about game crashing and other issues with PAT Airshow smokes already without someone ever using Uranium mod .
We would never thought that Uranium mod will affect in any way "AAA_PAT_airshow and camera" mod .
We don't know right now what's the deal with AAA_PAT_airshow and camera mod and if there is any even remotely possible conflict .
Will have to take a look in to it latter on , camera should not create any conflict at all , airshow smoke ? , we just don't know , have to take a look in those folders and files structure .

I have a ATI HD 3450 and it looks perfect without any colored lines.

If I can help, I think the texture "explodedpieces.tga" is big for a little object, and maybe because of it our friend Adriorn has problems.
I have some conflict with AAA_PAT_MOD too, if I activate your MOD, I see the original effect for acrobatic smoke.
The bomb_bay_doors also has changed the acrobatic smoke, this means something.
There is a PM for you...

Unfortunately , Oleg and 1C linked aircraft crash parts effect to also ejected shell cannon effect for Hs-129 aircraft .
We haven't done anything about it thus far and latter on we will see what can be done
with this aircraft cannon shells ejection effect so , it's not fixed yet .

Thank you for nice comment ,
glad to hear that your ATI HD 3450 is running without one hitch ,
maybe it would be helpful to Adriorn to know which ATI driver you're using +
your game Setup portion and conf.ini setting .
"explodedpieces.tga" is a good advice and this size texture wil be more scrutinized .
If PAT Airshow smoke is using also same class file like we're using and also bomb bay
door is using , then bomb bay door might be unified with our class file in to one
generic class file but I am not sure if Potenz & Wolfigter will bother with rewriting
Java code including in it also PAT Airshow smoke class entries .  :-\
Since you have created big bomb explosion effect mod , we did only basic 1000lb bomb
but we didn't touched Mistel , 5000lb & nuke explosion , guys should use your excellent
mod for these effects !  :)

Thank you for this update, I dearly hoped for the jet smoke to be repaired, looks very nice now.

However I got a kind of bug... I tried to find the source, but it really seems to have to do with this mod:

When I try to start my wingtip smoke, the game freezes and dies. I had a wingtip smoke color mod installed before, but uninstalling it doesn't help, I only get the problem with that effects mod... are wingtip smokes affected by this mod in some way? if so, this might help me solve my problem.

PS: Did some more tests... only when I deactivate this mod my wing tip smokes show and work.... I really hope this can be resolved

I encourage everyone to try if wingtipsmokes still work with everyone, I need to know where to look for a solution
