frustrating is still more like a kind word

the biggest shock during effects work was tank cannon blast effect , once it was
beautifully done to match visually exactly firing blast effect from real WWII tank , the
very same effect did show up on aircrafts with cannon during shooting
L.O.L.
So effect had to be scaled all the way back down to look acceptable for both tanks
and aircraft cannon blast .
Fun about 10/50kg bombs when used with small time delay is that when you drop those
bombs and they fall to the ground there should be first some smaller dust effect from
the bomb smashing to the ground and then explosion , what's really happening because
of lack of effects files is , that when 10/50 bomb fall to the ground , there is first same
explosion effect substituted rather than dust effect and then again same explosion
effect after 2 -3 seconds
So same effect is happening twice when bomb fall smashing to the ground and then again
when bomb explode
There is a lot more effects files sharing going on with other stuff when it comes to truck ,
cars , tanks etc....
That's why we always used to say we have done some of the stuff not because we
necessarily like it but because there is next to nothing other option and the way it is done
now is still much better looking effects considering WWII footage .
Unless each and every effect is separated and given appropriate number of new effects files
to create more historically correct effect , we're doomed to have what we have now
It's now more like trying to do something out of nothing ( minimum effects files support )
Same goes for aircraft various guns caliber bullet hit flash effects , some are sharing files
between each other and 0.50 caliber is dearly missing smoke effect file to show smoke
during bullets impact , it could have been nicely done to simulate many of 0.50 caliber
WWII gun camera clips but thus far smoke upon bullets impact is missing .
There is nobody to blame , it's a game from 2001 and for that time it was a blast and
looking bloody nice for the whole IL-2 simulation series .
Now since we moved forward trying to enhance some of the effects , problems with the
way effects were coded originally are showing up .
If there is still time and will , some of these things might get sorted out latter on
