DBW 1.7 dedicated help thread
« on: January 31, 2012, 09:56:17 PM »

For those struggling with custom installs and upgrades, editing their stuff correctly or who have questions about the selector or anything else about this odd update, here is the thread I will check, and I will try answer anything as well as I can. This may be , content wise, not a large update, but it is probably the most radical one so far. It is the DBW equivalent of taking 5 steps back so we can make a running jump to the next versions.

In the end there was so much one could say or explain about this, that I did not any longer know where to start. So rather, I throw the floor open for questions.

Please note, for those who want to get into DBW but are confused with all the builds and instructions, just sit tight, this week still we will have all the updates replaced by a single package, DBW 1.0 to 1.7, all included and ready to go. All you will need will be il2 4.101, and UP3. Later we will make even larger consolidations of installs, we will see how it goes.

Cheers and salutes, and my thanx especially to SAS~Anto and SAS~Storebror, who made this build possible.  :)

hi all  ok instant ctd problem no rc file in std hope this helps some one

you should have copied the new STD over the old one so the few files were replaced and the others remained. It is the XTD folder that was to be deleted and replaced.

Runs wonderfully well, thanks to all involved and what a great new selector system!

Only issue thus far: 109F-2 has mg131 cowl guns by default, or it seems so anyway.

Installed all according to Quick Install Guide, DBW blue initial screen appears showing   build 1.7, then proceeded untill the statement of error in "il2fb.exe" file appeared and the game went to WinXP.
Any gen ?
EDIT:
PROBLEM SOLVED:
Instead of il2fb.exe of the size 156 kB which run well with my DBW1.6 install, I placed there the il2fb.exe file of the size 5275kB from my well running UP3RC4, and DBW 1.7 runs now well.

Before run DBW 1.7 it's better to disable all the mods in the #DBW folder, I had a crash the first time I run DBW because of gear damage mod.
Just pay atention that there are some folder inside #DBW activated by JSGME like:

00_6dof for TrackIR
00_PAL-MissionProCombo
SAS_ Ecran_Wide_4101

Don't know if my download is corrupt, but I can't locate the 'DBW AIMOD' folder in the downloaded jsgmemods folder.

Thanks OberstDanjeje
I disabled gear damage mod and others mods also and now the game loads fine
Im going to find wich mod causes the conflict, activating one by one each time and testing the game
All the best
