Well, if you want mod your IL2 it's better to move your IL2 folder because it colud screw your game.
You can install the 4.11 patch in an empty folder and remove those files from your IL2, reapply DBW and pray ;)
But the patch most likely updated these files and didn't add...
Put then if I got the other patch and got those versions...
But the patches are .exe, not .zip . Darn it. Hold on.

EDIT: Got a zip of 4.10.1, gonna make a mish-mash of versions. :D

I don't rember which are the files in the 4.11 patch but there are some new files, SFS archive (fb_maps18 and fb_3do24) and dt.dll, plus an updatet files.sfs.
The files.sfs it's replaced by DBW too.
Launch the exe and point it to an empty folder.
It should be only those 4 files plus some folder for the skins, remove those files.
Reapply the 4.10 patch and DBW and it's done.

I checked, there are other useless folders, them could stay in your IL2 without issue.
Anyway The best choise is start from the beginning

Hello, I'm new here but an old IL2 vanilla fan, found out about mods a couple of weeks ago, so I followed the guide from here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28321.0.html in order to get the full package...

there was another guy a couple of pages ago that had the same problem, but his solutions did not work for me

here it is:

Ultrapack works fine (no missions though, and just the new campaigns)
DBW 1916 loads but CTD after it loads any plane
DBW does not load at all

I disabled the UP from the mod selector and deleated the quicks. also I activated the 6DOF... the problem still persists with no change
