Death Whispers Silently in Vietnam
« on: February 04, 2012, 02:47:14 PM »

These are two 7-mission semi-fictional campaigns showing American involvement in the Vietnam War during a few months in 1969. All the missions are pure fiction set in the background of the war.

As a matter of fact, I took the ground attack missions from my 'Raiders in the Sky of Vietnam' and changed the Skyraiders and L-5s to  OV-1 Mohawk (DWSIV – Whispering Death) and OV-10 Bronco (DWSIV - Bronco). I know those planes are not completely done yet, BUT if you can overcome the fact there are no roundels and the damage model has not been perfected yet, you can have a great fun I think:)

You need to have http://freeil2modding.free-forum.net/ov-1-and-ov-10-frankenplanes-with-fac-and-fo-rockets-vt266.html and international fix. Made for DBW 1.7 (or DBW 1.6).

EDIT By SAS~Bombsaway : The credit for the planes belongs to Checkyersix.

darn it - I thought that I made a couple screen shots to show you this, but apparently I messed that up.  Anyway, I was flying in mission 1, and got hit by some ground fire; no big deal, I thought, but but my wingman told me to bail.  My plane felt fine, so I went to an outside view to see what he was shouting about, and I saw that most of my port engine was gone.  So What, you say, but the thing is, what was left was a donut shaped portion in the middle, and a perfectly functioning prop, all by itself out in front!  Either there's some bug in the model, or these OV's sure can take a hit!

Damn, what happened to those screenies!?

The plane is not fully done, the damage model needs to be worked on. I just wanted to try what a Vietnam campaign with these planes would be like, therfore I did not build any new missions but used those ones from "Raiders".

Cracken, I like them completely done or not. Did you make these planes? They look very good.

Well I'll be....  Thats what happens when your computer is down for seven months. I have been over to Beo's site and never saw that one. Great planes. I hope he continues working on them.

Great shots Tom, and a fine representation of the Il2 Vietnam aircraft, thanks for posting these.
