Well, I tried with the 60% crash troubleshooting, did absolutely everything, and sadly, no work.
I'll have to rollback my computer because I don't feel like installing the game, I honestly don't know what went wrong.

Thats your discision, 60%-ers can be a bit fiddly to get sorted depending on your systems OS & how it works for you. Go on, give up. I anti-dare you!

I need some help here. I'm pretty certain I know what the problem is, I'm getting 5% CTD, but I can't get the fix.
When I dl the Direct2Drive patch, which I've tried 3 times, it refuses to open both by Winrar and 7Zip. Says that the file is not an archive via 7Zip, and that it is in an unknown format or corrupted with WinRar. This I'm quite certain is why I've been tearing my hair out for the past few days trying to get this to work.

Had 4.09m with UP2.01 working fine for the longest time with no D2D fix, but being stupid me I un-installed, re-installed fresh version and tried to get to UP3.0 and 4.10.1. 4 installs later I'm about ready to break my mouse.

And yes, my game is D2D, not a disk. Couldn't find a copy anywhere in my area, game stores refuse to carry more than 3 racks 2 feet long worth of new pc games. EB Games sucks...unless you like XBOX

I'm having 5% Crash errors and I've tried everything listed to no avail.
I'm running IL-2 1946 v4.101m with Ultrapack3.0_RC2 installed. The stock game function doesn't even work, however if in JSGME UP3.0 is deactivated, the game goes back to it's old self and works fine. I also checked my log and it says I'm missing the following files: fb_3do22.sfs, fb_maps17.sfs, up_sounds.sfs, up_sounds02.sfs, up_sounds03.sfs, and up_sounds04.sfs. I reinstalled then updated back up to 4.101m and reinstalled UP3.0, followed by RC2, and none of those files showed up even after that. Can someone please help me and most likely make me feel as dumb as a brick. I'm new to this so show no mercy

I somehow fixed it, but ended up with a new problem regarding skins being only white, game crashing while loading map, and Russian Paratroopers.

Never mind, I didn't read the problem report/solution someone did below. All fixed and working now, finally :S

Im still getting a crash...at 60 % ..
And what's the worse I don't have any mods on..I go these installed :
SAS Buttons v8.7
SAS ModACT_Beta
SAS Weapon Classes 4 sound

I just don't see why am I getting that crash..Can anyone please help me out..

Btw I used to mod my game before , when AAA forum was active and my skills got rusty , so please help me solve this problem..

I've become confused about the folder structure under Modact 3.06... Is it still the case that the game will read a MODS folder? Does this MODS folder now live in the IL2 root directory, or under #SAS?

The "MODS" folder just changed it's name to "#SAS", so instead of having a "MODS" folder in the IL2 root directory, now you have an "#SAS" folder in the same place.

I've installed 1946 version 4.10.1m.  Installed the Direct2Drive patch. INstalled Modact 3.06. Updated buttons.

Cannot get the IL2FB.exe to launch.  The il2fb_stock opens fine, but when I attempt to open the .exe, the IL2 Executable Selector does its countdown, disappears and the Windows double-bell sound occurs....then nothing.

There is no error message.

Help!
