Hi everyone,
A quick question for all. The Hawk III has oleo struts for the landing gear. The position of the wheels naturally slant when the plane is on the ground because of the bird's weight. But when the aircraft is in the air, the oleo struts stretch because of gravity, and the wheels become straight. (refer to bottom pic for ref.)
[Left Side: Plane-on-ground position / Right side: Plane-in-the-air position]
Has anyone tried to simulate the position of the oleo struts when the plane takes off? If not, does game limitations prevent me from duplicating this effect? I'm asking because I am still deciding whether or not to attempt to animating this effect. Otherwise, I will have to render the oleo struts in a fixed on-the-ground position.
Looking forward to an answer. Liddlemaus, out.

Note: this does not mean I won't animate the retractable landing gear. My question only refers to simulating the weight being put on the oleo struts.
