General Newbie Confusion

Being completely new to IL-2 and mainly gearing toward offline play for now it has taken me a couple of days to figure out how to install UP3RC4 and DBW onto my steam version of IL-2 (yes I did use the D2D patch thx!). I have some real noob questions so please be gentle.

1. I have read the stickies for newbies about DBW and UP but was under the impression that DBW would allow me to fly a great deal of single missions in new aircraft while I get my hands around the sim. I do have all the new aircraft in the QMB but there are no new missions. Did I get this wrong? maybe I have to download all missions / campaigns seperatley and if so do all missions from resources like missions4today.com work with DBW or are some not compatible?

2. The QMB seems really limited (logical i guess!) but just quickly is there any way to select skins for the aircraft I fly in the QMB? and do I always have to start in the air? I can't seem to figure out how to set a takeoff position. I'm now thinking that I have to use the full mission editor but I quickly discovered its not that intuitive (at least for me!), I will however get around to figuring it out later.

QMB...

to start on the ground, choose missiontype=scramble
to switch skins. hit the round button on the far right, behind the flight type.

Missions:
not included in the package, but can be found at other places.
some missions/campaigns are specially geared for specific aircraft. However, most of the missions palaying between 1940 and 45 should work okay in DBW 1.71. when in doubt, download, and check the readme inside :)

Search for and download Mission Mate V6 at mission4today, and give it a try.
