^Thanks for the info on Effects!  I thought the Vertex issues had been resolved with newer drivers?  I think Dither and PolygonStipple are not an impact due to other settings like ColourBit and StencilBits.  The one I'm really curious about is DrawLandByTriangle, that and the Crossfire problem.

This guide indicates to set it to zero:

Hmm, I'm on 8-series drivers (if it ain't broke, don't fix it...) but if the vertex issues have bee sorted I'd be willing to change. I have been meaning to update my drivers for a while so if this series are looking good then I think I'll update ;)
You'd probably have to do a long search through some of the old Il-2 forums to see if there's a solution to your crossfire woes, unless someone here knows how to sort it... ;)

The vertex was fixed in the 10.7 version. ;)
I don't see the blue hue thing in my IL-2.
I don't know about 10.8 version.

And I'm running my game with crossfire on, but it only works without shaders.
My computer is a low end machine, so I only can play without shaders.
I think  it wouldn't good for your configuration. ;)

Cat 10.8 are working well.  Does anyone here run Crossfire and is there anything special I need to do to get it to work?  I'm on Win 7 64Bit w/ a 4850X2, and Il-2 runs great with Crossfire disabled, but crashes to desktop at 100% mission load screen with it enabled.

On my system with the same Graka as crossfire, Cat 10.8., Windows XP 32bit crossfire runs (for Il-2) flawless.  I have Your problem with Lockon Flaming cliffs 2  :(!

On IL-2 I had every time I loaded a mission a blue out with cat 10.7 and 10.6. But eit 10.8 everything is fine  :)

Hi,
10.8 works the same as 10.7 - still well with my special issue. Now i am really sure inbetween it has something to do with contrails. These are displayed in altitudes of 7000m or higher only. When (external) viewing an aircraft with lot of contrails (i. e. of a B17 combat box) in the background/on the screen glass parts and prop discs aren't displayed. Turning the external view to other angles where no or lesser contrails are in the background makes everything displayed well. No problems at all with the Me262, it has no props and canopy is displayed even unter the conditions above.

It's a weird thing and i can't believe i'm the only one with this issue.  My 5870 is working well with all other games.
Couldn't find a solution via confini settings so far...

cheruskerarmin , try with different Adaptive Anti-Aliasing settings from your Catalyst Control Center.

Out of curiosity, is it finally possible to run water=3/4 with ATI card, or are we still stuck at water=2 ?

I haven't tried other than water=2, from what I have read water=2 is the same for ATI as water=3/4 on Nvidia from this guide:  http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=29185

I have a guide here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1358851

Anyone else run crossfire successfully on Win7 64bit with above settings?  Anyone else know what TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles really does?  Thanks for replies.

Config : Win7 32 Hd4850x2 drivers : 10.7 & 10.8 no crossfire in OpenGl but do in ... directx only offline... pff.
Config : Win7 64 Hd4850x2 drivers : 10.7 & 10.8 no crossfire at all... just spent the last five days to format and reinstall, to set up Catalyst and conf.ini...
Conclusion : my first and i'm quite sure the last graphic card from ATI.

Water still stay at 2 max settings....

Thanks for confirming the crossfire woes, I might try DirectX 32bit, but probably not, the game works fine on half the 4850X2...

I'm a system builder, so I've used practically every generation of AMD/ATI and Nvidia, can't say I'd stick to one brand for long.  Who knows, whenever SoW comes out, which team will work best...

CF is not working with IL2 from day one. For example, benchmarks with 4870X2, 2x 4870 and one only 4870 VGA. No difference at all:

Conclussion: CF is not giving more performance.

Nvidia SLI is working perfectly here, with AFR or SFR.

I think those that are saying crossfire is "working" in XP, Win7 32bit, etc. mean it's not crashing to desktop.

I would settle for just being able to leave crossfire enabled, I grow tired of forgetting to disable it and having IL-2 crash :)

By all means, if the only game you play is IL-2, go Nvidia!  I know it's blasphemy to say here, but there are other games though:)

I have 15 to 20 percent of increasing on FPS with crossfirex enabled. ;)
But it only works in OpenGL mode without hardware shaders (there is no perfect mode).  :(
