Hi BravoFxTrt

I think this aircraft is the one flown by Steve Ritchie in the Vietnam War but with a more modern Cold war cammo.

I am currently working on a skinpack for USAF MiG killers in 1966 and 1967. At the moment, skinning Col. Robin Olds planes.

Eventually I will reach Steve Ritchie´s F-4s but I most probably will not paint it in this cold war scheme. :(

As soon as I can I will announce this new MiG killer pack here. ;)

All the best and thanks for sharing the pictures!

J. Madden was with Debellevue for 2 stars, and my bad, I dont recall who he flew with for his 3rd Star. Ill try to dig it up. I was in the 550TH TFTS with L/C Madden. then transfered to the Nickel (555TH TFTS) both F-15 A&B's. I got to sit in a DeBellevues Briefing back in 1981, yes it was awesome to here his story.

Hi BravoFxtrt,

Answering your request, first you must know the great Harpia_Mafra skins that actually already have the F-4 a/c 463. (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1092)

Well, since I was already working on another MiG killer skin pack, this time for the USAF F-4s, I made a little change of subjects and finished some skins for the 555th TFS/432nd TRW.

I included the aircraft you asked for (463 Capt. Steve Ritchie and Capt. Chuck DeBellevue), also the one flown by Capt. J A Madden with Chuck DeBellevue and another one flown by Maj Lodge and Capt. Locher.

As soon as it is available for download I will announce it here.

For now, take a look:

Steve Ritchie´s

Capt. Madden

Maj Lodge

Yes, Milantarik that story is one of my favourites in the air war history.

It was the day when the US made its first ace of the war (Cunningham and Driscoll - Navy), when the second US ace of the war (Steve Ritchie - USAF) scored his first kill while flying the most prolific F-4 of the war (a/c 463 that ended the war with 6 kills).

It was also the day when two highly skilled pilots clashed (Cunningham and Driscoll last kill that is worth reading about), the day both sides lost highly skilled pilots in air to air combat (Col. Toon -VPAF and Maj Lodge-USAF) and the day that started the longest period a downed pilot evaded capture of the war (23 days Capt. Locher).

Not to mention it recorded the highest number of MiGs down in a single day.

Very important day for modern aviation and still it is reaching its 40 anniversary tomorrow!

 ;)
