it would be a simple skin edit, no doubt, - much as anyone who does skins should be able to fix it...

... no doubt...

Please, have. Try yourself, if you don't believe. I don't know how to move rivets and joints independently from camo, without having at least the template. If you know how, please teach me...

okay mate, here i fixed it for you in Photoshop.
i just edited the default tgb file, as the others will be further LOD levels, so you won't see this little error with them.

https://www.mediafire.com/?ac275g2a3issw5p  this link outdated - replaced by link in following post below. ;)

i'm afraid i can't 'teach' you how to use Photoshop for skin editing, i simply don't have the time for that.
If you do use Photoshop, i can show a few tricks, but mostly you'd have to learn it yourself...
anyway, this edit (i hope it works, i didn't get time to test it in game yet) 'should' have those panels lined up better now.
let me know if it's okay, will you?  :)

edit: now i've had a chance to look at it ingame - the panels in front of the cockpit are now properly aligned, but i just noticed that the panels behind the cockpit are also misaligned.  :P
i'll do an updated version with those fixes, but it will only be later tomorrow.

alright, i made the time to fix it properly, now all panels should line up properly. ;)
new link: https://www.mediafire.com/?rp9xd9h99p190r6  again, redundant due to (hopefully final) fix, link in second post below this one ;)

a tip, if you do use Photoshop - i make liberal use of the Clone Stamp tool when editing skins, especially when i want to remove markings and so on...  ;)

Thank you so much!

Upper panels are now fixed:

but there's still an issue about lower ones:

please could you fix them as well?

Dropping your file inside "summer" folder, now I saw there were templates "hidden" there; maybe I could have done myself... I use GIMP, though.

i doubt you could use the 'template' inside the summer folder - it uses a completely different skin...
and to call it a template is a bit of a stretch, as it is only one layer...
anyway, i'll look into the lower panels, see what i can do ;)

and done - hopefully that's it for misaligned panels?  ;D

cool malone!

thanks for the corrections.

i once had the template for this aircraft and had taken the time to make the same corrections. I even had a new default skin which i though i released here, nearly 2 years ago. but on searching i cant find the skin anywhere on my PC, I cant find the page for the Download, nor is it among my mediafire documents. :( guess its lost forever.

i've had similar things happen to me, fresco :D
well, as i look closer at this skin, i've since found one or two smaller errors which i plan to fix as well, probably bordering on nitpicking, lol - and a few more adjustments i plan to make.
so look forward to yet another update in the coming days ;)

I think I remember reading somewhere that, in the actual aircraft, the engine was not mounted on the centerline of the fuselage. It was offset to one side for some reason, and I also vaguely remember reading that it was mounted at a slight angle to the centerline. I can't imagine what possible advantage that would be, but if the modder did use that info in his calculations it might account for the misalignment of some of the panel lines.

...never heard of that, may be you want to talk about the D520 nose gun ...

In that case the nose gun mounting offset was 1°30 to the left
