Also, the engine smoke is "blowing" the wrong way. It "blows" forward instead of back into the cockpit....

Oh my  ??? Now that´s scary. Lung-cancer for the IL-2 pilots.
Must put all WW1 pilots wearing gas-masks!

Can you help me with a few things?
Some default skins use extra textures outside 'summer' folders:

- Gotha's wings are not part of the default skin but come from another file which I cant locate
- HP 0/400 bombers wings
- the cockpit for Nieuport 11/Se.5a/FokkerDVII which is used for other types too
- theres a Plane/Texture folder which contents generate txl reload errors I need to look at those too
- blinking cockpit front parts when firing the guns in several planes, very annoying error :)
- missing plane: Scout f1 pug / Siemens-Schuekert, D II , its in the plane_ru.properties but not in the air.ini

I still cant get a QMB mission to work. It saves in the folder and the map will show in the list of missions but click fly and nothing happens. Although I am enjoying the smokes...

I tested and QMB missions save ok for me, I got DBW 1.71 without any QMB mods/its a stock setup.
My mod includes nothing related to QMB so if theres an error it must be outside, I used a fresh #DBW_1916 folder and added no class files which would conflict with anything, did a test with classcheck.exe too before upload.

The smokes I'm gonna test today, havent seen smoke going forward up until now, if its reproduceable then probably only the gasresist value needs to be increased to 0.5 from 0.1. Will test this one today.

The second  test version is uploaded, it has lots of smaller improvements:
*** link removed for update to version 1 beta 3 ***

- new splash screen by Jura
- added one more aircraft: reworked Trench sweeper Scout by Beowulf
- new metal texture + 3d light fixes on many engine cowlings
- proper nav map for the ww1 English channel map
- few more improvements on the cockpit textures

Btw I could use some help with cockpit 3d fixes: Fokkers, Macchi/Hansa seaplanes, etc., not a complicated problem.

Hm,the planes and skins are tough being Frankenplanes
Beo, the maker of all these would be the one to assist in the skin locations for wings etc.

I'll PM him to see if he can join the discussion  :)

I've gotten a few errors also
nothing big,but there there  :D

I'll try out the second edition you posted and keep a new log file

Blinking cockpit thing I thought was fixed,
it's an easy fix I believe for those that know
I'll try and track that down,or someone  8)

I see even in the old DBW 1916 it was missing also
so will check that out

thanks Boomer...that cockpit blinking drives me insane....im not even sure if i caused it or not ::)
if it would be fixed I'd be a happy camper!

anyway the other important thing would be to figure out the missing Siemens-Schuekert, D II
maybe its an easy fix because its in the sfs but needs an air ini entry? do you know the proper entry for that type?

Thanks a lot! Got the Siemens Schuekert working!

Btw with blinking I mean that the front part of the cockpit (hood_summer.tga) disappears and reappears when I fire the guns. Was this error present in the stock 1.71 DbW1916? I didnt follow my own advice to keep the old DBW1916 folder so I cant even check :D
